How many of you have started stockpiling groceries this year?

Answered 4 years ago

It doesn't have to be extreme, I'm just interested in how you store it. I've got a little stockpile of things (I was doing this before COVID, and I never take more than two of an item at a time, I just let it build up as I go), but it's spread throughout the house. I'm thinking of just pooling it all together and storing it in one spot. Is that what you do? I'm prepping for when my husband changes jobs and we have a week between pays.
Why do you stock up? What item do you currently have the most of? Mines nappies.

I grab items like toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner etc when I find them online and they are on sale. I also stockpile Xmas stuff, the items that don't go out of date from now all the way up to Xmas - that way the cost is spread over a few months.

I have extra bits and pieces but not food stuff. More like shampoo/conditioner, soap, foil/gladwrap as they seem to be the things I always forget to buy when needed haha

Non food items are in the top of my laundry cupboard, neatly lined up. Food is on top shelf of pantry. Seeing it there reminds me what I do or don't need to buy when on sale. The division also ensures nothing is contaminated.

I always have extra bits and pieces like pasta sauce, tomato soup, and tinned fruit in the pantry, plus meat and veg in the freezer. I've got extra shelves and an extra freezer in the laundry. I've always done this as it's what my parents did (always had extra, but not a ridiculous amount). I like not having to go shopping too often. And is handy if I get sick, hubby doesn't have to go shopping lol. Other things I'll stock up on a bit if its on good special, but only if it's something we use regularly.
