Anyone done the 5:2 fast diet while breastfeeding?

I know it is not recommended for breastfeeding, but my son is 18mths and we’re still feeding a few times a day- he eats 3 meals plus snacks too, so surely I’m not needing to make much milk anyway? I really loathe counting calories/points etc. thought this might be a compromise.

Be careful doing any diet while breastfeeding. With your sons age I wouldnt worry about supply being an issue but your body puts all the nutrients you eat into your breastmilk first, what ever is left over you get. You might end up lacking vitamins or nutrients if your diet is inadequate.

Wean him or don't fo the 5:2 🤦‍♀️
Or ya know, just eat nutritiously and control your portions every day

 Very honestly, you are not really feeding for nutritional purposes now. I am not a doctor, so take what I say with a pinch of salt, but it's not like you are nursing a 4 month old baby who needs a good supply. Perhaps pop in to your local health nurse to check but really, your child is 18 months and I don't see why you can't just do it and carry on as usual.

 Her 18 month old is still receiving nutrition from her breastmilk, it’s just not the MAIN source of nutrition.

Could you try the 16:8 instead??? I don't know about the breast feeding side but I'm doing 16:8 and I don't feel like I'm missing out l, I'm not hungry. I'm loosing weight. I'm still eating.

What about the meal prep diet, where you use the containers for portion control. One color fruit, one veg, protien etc. You can prep 3 or 4 days at a time and not counting calories.
