Planning a family holiday to Gold and Sunshine Coasts. Would love to hear from locals

Any locals to QLD? I would love to hear advice/suggestions of where to go, what to see and do, what to not bother with etc. Kids will be 11 and 13. Will do a couple of the parks - movie world and sea world? Ripleys believe it or not, up to Australia zoo. We will have a car, love to explore, doesnt all have to be 'city' type stuff. Happy to get out for walks and sight seeing etc. Have been to lamington NP, montville, marysville etc but not for 15 years so tips on thise areas too would be great. We enjoy scenic drives and stopping at a pub for lunch etc too.Where are the best places to stay/base ourselves in gold coast and sunshine coast? Theres a bird park just south of gold coast??? Any tips and suggestions are very welcome to help me plan this trip. Basically ANYTHING you can tell me! Is there much to do in Brisbane? Thanks

Sunshine Coast - Noosa National Park, Buderim waterfalls, Climbing Glasshouse Mountains (Mt Ngun Ngun), Butterfly house at Bribie Island, Any of the beaches (Mooloolaba is our favourite), Rick's Garage at Palmwoods is great for a meal. There are so many amazing paces to check out - the above are just some of our favourites.

We stayed at Breakfree Peninsula on The Gold Coast. Its a short walk to Surfers, Cavill Ave. The rooms have Kitchens so you can cook meals if you wanted to save on food. Their are street performers every night in Cavill Ave, my kids loved them!! We took our kids to Infinity, which is light shows. There is a 7D theatre in Cavill Ave, if you get the chance to check it out, it was AMAZING!!! Not sure on your budget but for the thrill seekers, their is Indoor Sky-diving. I highly recommend it!!!!
Hope this helps. Good luck and have a great time!
