Hair falling out

Answered 4 years ago

My hair seems to be shedding like crazy! It's everywhere! When i brush it, i have to clean the brush two or 3 times because there's so much hair in the brush. I'm the shower it seems to come out in clumps almost! It's in everything and everywhere, it's over everyone's clothes, it's in dinners ,even the ones my husband makes, he even found my hair stuck in his toothbrush ffs.
I don't feel like its thinning or im getting a bald spot that i can tell, but why could this be happening?? It's ridiculous

Vitamin D deficiency, my hair started to thin when i stopped breast feeding my third, i didnt worry too much as i put it down to that, it kept getting worse though, turned out my Vitamin D levels were ridiculously low.

If you have a 4 month old its very likely just postpartum hair loss. I had it so bad with my first baby and now again with my second, hes 3 months old. My hair is everywhere!! Sorry I couldnt tell you how long it took to get back to normal for me.

Have you had a baby recently? I lost so much hair after each of my children it’s to make up for that thick luscious hair that you don’t lose while pregnant. However 3 Yrs on I’m still losing hair. A hairdresser once told me it can take yrs for all your hormones to settle down

Maybe! I think I read somewhere that we don’t lose much hair while pregnant that’s why our hair looks better shinier thicker etc ( can’t say mine did though lol) and then once pregnancy is done we shed a lot of that hair. For a whole year after my baby I would lose fistfuls of it I was scared that I would go bald or even that it was something worse. It’s back to normal Almost now but I generally lose quite a bit of hair. I’ve heard a saying too ... your pregnant and your body changes for 9 months so allow yourself at least 9 months for things to go back

I have 4 girls. It’s a non negotiable the youngest is 6 and she even knows she has to do it. Of course they forget sometimes but it’s 98% of the time. Before that it would be everywhere and would clog the vacuum. The smallest one brushes and cleans her brush she leaves the hair on the bathroom sink and I wipe it up and throw it in the bin. We haven’t yet mastered throwing it in the bin with her but as long as it’s all in the one spot I don’t mind, that will come with time

My hair is really thick and I lose like 20 hairs every time I wash it and whenever I brush it I pull a fair few out of the brush afterwards...not balding but my hair is down to my hips nearly, some people just shed a lot but if you're concerned I'd ask a hairdresser or gp (if you think it could be medical related).

My hair's horrible for getting knotted so I literally brush it like 5 times a day and every time there's hairs in the brush. If my hair was thinner than it is I'd worry but yeah, fr some people it's normal. Others it can be balding, medical related

Most of my life, my hair has been long and I shed a lot. Several years ago I got a pixie cut and no more shedding. Now I’m growing my hair again and it’s shoulder length now and the shedding is back. I think maybe because I spend more time brushing it when it’s longer.

This happened to me recently, for about three months. I was concerned and spoke to my hairdresser about it and asked her to check for bald spots. There were none and she said it was perfectly normal for hair to go through a cycle where there is heaps of shedding. She said it can last for a while but will then stop and new healthy hair begins to grow. Mine went back to normal.
