No, because the wife has the children, does most of the care, works, ,took time off work to look after kids, has less super. And would probably have to go on the single parent pension if they split. Men get away scott free in a break up, woman are left with all the responsibility, all the abuse and no money.

There are no assumptions there. They are facts. The person writing that reply should have also added : And once she is on the single parent pension people like the (assumption troll) will hound her and belittle her for being a single parents and claiming a pension.... The lady who has $120000 put away is smart and ensuring her and her kids future.

In all the single parents I know, which is quite a few (myself included) I can count on one hand how many dads share custody or are at least regularly present in their child's life.

This whole notion of sharing money just because you’re married is so stupid. I love when women have their own safety net. I most certainly have mine, my husband has his too. I worked for my money before I met him, he worked for his. Just because we got married, doesn’t mean his bank balance topped up 😫

I've had more than one miscarriage. He knows about the first, but since the other pregnancies were all unwanted (yes, I realise how ungrateful that sounds but I can't help being so fertile, and I didn't ask for the miscarriage it was Gods will) I didn't mention them. They were all early in the first trimester and he was working FIFO at the time so he wouldn't notice my period being a couple of weeks late.
