When you do your tax each year centrelink use that to balance your payments. If you have been lodging a tax return I'd say she entitled to the money. The family tax benefits cuts off around $90k if you earn under that the family is entitled to some paymentd

If you are concerned that she is not reporting your combined income as a married couple to Centrelink, then ask her. If you want to report her for withholding information about her income, then check with Centrelink what she is reporting. As her husband, she should be telling them your income too, and if she is not doing the right thing you may end up with a lot of money to pay back.

It is also possible that she has just received child allowance. My husband never knew about this and I kept it to use when we went on vacations. It may be something like that she has received which will not be a problem. Check with her first and let her know you are going to ring/visit Centrelink to make sure you are reporting the correct amount because you don’t want to owe them any money. If she becomes angry and tries to stop you, then you might be right and you should sort it out quickly.

What if she’s committing fraud and he is concerned and doesn’t want to be involved but being married he would be looped in too! Weirdo husband because he doesn’t want to get in trouble and wants her to stop! Sorry all you Australian’s believe claiming fraudulent payments is okay because you feel so entitled!!! Bunch of losers
