I love temp work, come in, do your work, leave, get paid, dont get involved in all the drama, make new connections, expand network, keep cv current

But how do you know what and how to do the work? Do you have anyone sit with you for a few days yo 'teach you' or do you just get basic stuff?

They would hire someone who didn't know the office system or someone who has never had experience. They expect you to jump in with as little disruption and assistance as possible

Could possibly leed to something more permanent, but dont think i want to do the job permanently. I just think that by the time i actually get the hang of everything, it will be time to go. Seems pointless training someone only for them to leave....

Not sure you need to worry about the logistics and what’s deemed useful or useless for said company. You’re temping. Wake up, show up and they’ll pay up! End of story. All the best OP x

I was temping for a while before kids and unfortunately that’s the nature of the game. New things, new people. By the time I got to vibe with the office environment it was onto the next assignment. Just go in, do the tasks required, don’t get involved in office drama & gossip and just think about the nice pay packet. Does your temp assignment have potential for something more permanent?
