Our Aust Government is paying amazon (foreign company) to store our personal travel and contact data.

The Aust Government is paying amazon (foreign company) to store our country's contact data.

Shouldn't all government contracts be with Australian companies???

Disgusting, Scott Morrison, simply disgusting.

Our gov can’t even keep Centrelink or census up. Any data stored overseas is not under our gov control anyway. Just a joke, the whole thing. Your better off just isolating and not standing close to any one for 15 mins or under 1.5m...simple really and you don’t need an app for that. Plus it already working so the app is redundant even before launch.

I was going to get the app. Now i wont. Also just hearing that the Australian Police had made an application (or something) to have access to that info screams out red flag to me, i know they have been turned down, but that brings me no comfort.

Yes. In the current circumstances they should be only supporting Aus businesses. It's appalling.

After I heard our details would go to the US & they have laws that if data is stored in the US their police/govt can access it whenever they want, I refuse to download it. But it's ok, because Australian Police can't access it.

(I'm aware Google have it but I block their location setting unless I need it.)
