Baby clothes. 00000

Answered 4 years ago

If you had a full term baby (not premmie) and they were in 00000 for a little while what size were they born at? Due with my baby soon and been told to get a few 00000 for the first week or 2. Any advice would be great :)

My girls were both 6.7 and 6.9 pound, both were in 00000 for the first week or two. 0000 were way too big for them as newborns. In saying that, i would only get a few things that small as they do grow out of them super quick!

I'd recommend trying to find some second hand clothes. At that age they grow out of them so fast they will be in great condition but cheaper than buying new. Don't go overboard, you can always buy more once bub is here and you've worked out if they are a spewer/messy pooper etc 😁

8 pound 5 and 8 pound 6 straight into 000 my first born was 57cm long when he was born, there was no way he was fitting into 0000. We were given a 5x0 while I was pregnant and donated it to the hospitals special care nursery before we left the hospital with our son.
You really won’t need many 000 or 00, you’ll need more 0 as that’s when they start moving around and eating and getting dirty.

I'd buy 0000 or 000. However, if you decide to buy them, Kmart onesie's are ridiculously cheap, so it won't break the bank to buy a couple of 00000's.

My first born (non-preemie) was in tiny baby 00000 for a few weeks. My second didn't fit into 00000 when born. There was only upper 300gm-odd difference between the two babies, too.

Both my babies were 7 pound / 3.5kg & 50cm, about average. They wore 0000 for 1 - 2 months max. I don't think you'll need 5x0's. It'll be OK if the 4x0's are a little big to start with, they'll grow into them.

My bub was 5 pound and wore 00000 for 3 weeks, was a waste of money. Buy 000 and wrap them tight in a swaddle.

Maybe a couple of 00000. I'd be hunting for hand me downs or clearance items in all '0' sizes. Babies literally grow out of a size overnight!! It's so fast!
