I see you're looking at a mirena too. I've had both depo and a mirena. My 11 Yr old was conceived on depo..... Had been on it for about 2 years and was never late getting my jabs.... Mirena was the only contrecptive that actually worked for us (son was conceived while on the pill) I still got my period albeit alot lighter but the frequency of my migraines increased while on it. It moved and after 3 unsuccessful attempt s at removal (and to reinsert a new one) I had to have it surgically removed.... Because of that I didn't get a replacement and hubby got the snip instead. But all in all I would go mirena over depo for sure!

I was pressured into having depo before I left hospital with my first baby. After three months I wanted to switch back to the pill but again felt pressured to stay on it. I’d had no bleeding so doc said it suited me perfectly. The day after my second shot I started bleeding and didn’t stop for ten months. That’s bleeding EVERY day, often extremely heavy which I’d never experienced before. It took fertility treatment to settle the bleeding down and it took 3.5 years of trying to conceive before I finally did. I blame the depo.
