I do. Went to the USA and OMG the whole country is one huge fat duck of blubber. One woman took up 3 seats at the airport her arse was so big. Her git was so huge it sat on her lap and reached her knee. I watched her eat 12 filled doughnuts, a supersize Maccas meal and a family size bag of chocolate . No wonder she is a heifer.

When i see morbidly obese people sometimes I wonder how many calories they're consuming a day. It takes a lot of calories to maintain that kind of weight.

Yep I was maintaining 130kgs with about half a loaf of bread and at least 1.25litres of coke a day on top of just normal healthyish food.
Stopped drinking coke, dropped like 10 kilos in a month

No but I do judge what they wear. Just dress to flatter your shape is all

Yes!!! If you're overweight you're overweight, accept it and wear clothing to flatter the body shape you are, not the one you wish you had. Just because you can squeeze into a size 12 (only just) doesn't mean it fits you. So gross seeing fat people with all their rolls squeezed into a tight shirt that barely covers their belly and emphasises every roll

REPLY

Yep. Just because you can wear it doesn't mean you should

I can honestly say it doesn't bother me what other people wear. It is their body not mine.

ANSWER

If I'm honest. Yes I do, especially if I see them eating at maccas or something. I know I shouldn't, I always feel bad but I can't help it.

It’s strange but I think there are a lot of overweight people in Australia now, that’s it’s almost more normal than not in my opinion. I actually judge people who are obsessed with their looks and try flaunt it, taking selfies, have plastic surgery, wear too much makeup etc, there is something seriously wrong about these people. I prefer overweight people to that anyway, and I honestly believe both are unhealthy

I'll agree on that! I judge, I'll admit it. It's hard to stop. It's a nasty habbit of mine.

I've had plastic surgery and I don't think there is something "seriously wrong" with me. Everyone judges, just be honest.

I have fillers and Botox because I exercise and have lost weight in my face. I don’t think there is anything wrong with me. I eat healthy, exercise daily and set a great example for my kids. Looking good and being healthy is self care, nothing to be ashamed about.

ANSWER

Yes I do. I am just under 90kg and 162cm tall so am obese, but I'm just a bitch. I don't mean to but it's just how it is.

Same as an above poster but my first child ruined me. I've been fat for ten years, done everything, tried everything and seen the doctor the dietician done all the tests blah blah blah.
Now when people comment to me about overweight people I have a keen insight to their thoughts on me.
What does judging someone achieve? Absolutely nothing and diminishes your own self worth.

Same with me, I was a healthy size 8 my entire life even after 2 kids no problem - 3rd child and I gained HUGE weight, I ate the same healthy food I always did but kept gaining rapidly. Had tests done and turned out I had bad PCOS. I couldn’t take the weight anymore so took out private health insurance and waited a year to get gastric bypass - 2 years on and I’m feeling the best I ever have - my energy and zest for life is all back again :) for the record I was back to a size 8 by the 10th month after surgery - you lose on average 1-2kg a week but more than that I’m the beginning.
I hope you find what works for you!

REPLY

Wow! May i ask what your weight was before surgery? And your height?

REPLY
Sure I’m 160cm and my pre-surgery weight was 97kg, now I weigh 51.5 and have weighed that steadily since the 10-11month mark after surgery. It was seriously the best thing I ever did I feel sooooo much better now, it’s awesome because I can still eat sweet things but get full very easily so everything I eat is in small amount - so I snack and eat throughout the whole day to get my nutrients. I’ll never forget how different I felt 3-4 months after my surgery I could see myself changing so rapidly every week! Lol
The good thing is most ppl don’t even know I’ve had surgery they just assume I have a good metabolism lol

To the lady that said she had gastric band surgery and lost weight but still has sweets and that people think she must have a good metabolism - wow, your attitude seems flawed to me in so many ways.
First, why go through gastric band surgery and still eat sweets regularly?!? This seems so immature and irresponsible. Gastric band is not a get out of jail free card and guess what? You actually can regain the weight if you aren’t careful.
2. Letting people think you have a good metabolism when you had major surgery seems very deceitful to me. Whilst you don’t have to disclose your surgery to everyone acting like you can eat what you want in front of people and letting them make these comments without correcting them doesn’t sit right with me, particularly as many people struggle with their weight and your cavalier attitude likely makes them feel worse.
I really think you need to rethink your approach. Good luck.

I’m the one who had gastric bypass, first of all to the hag judging me: GET A LIFE AND STOP BEING JUDGMENTAL!
So what if I eat sweets? my surgeon told me I can still eat everything in moderation which I do. I have no choice actually, I eat only a very small amount of dessert or sweets it doesn’t harm you! I bake it all myself too because I love to bake. Secondly NO you do not regain the weight unless you purposefully binge to the point of vomiting all day every day even then it’s hard to stretch the stomach bevause it’s been cut - this is why gastric bypass has the highest long term success rate and why I chose it.
To the other lady who asked about out of pocket - it was $5500 :) recovery was 3 nights in private hospital. ignore the judgmental ppl just do what is best for you and makes you happy!

I’m not the ‘hag’ but I’m curious though. You said you don’t eat a lot of sweets because you can’t but you also said people wonder how you can eat what you do without gaining weight? If I saw a slim person eating the occasional sweet I wouldn’t think that. If I saw them eat those all the time I certainly would.

Also, I’ve seen quite a few people gain back weight after gastric bypass. Not from bingeing to the point of vomiting but from slowly adopting old lifestyle choices.Like any weight loss , once you’ve achieved your goal you have to maintain your healthy lifestyle or you will gain back the weight you lost!

Congrats on your weight loss though. Surgery is not quick fix solution I do agree with you there

I also don't want to be offensive, but I'm big and I like sweets, and was told unless I was ready to make changes to my lifestyle that surgery wouldn't fix anything (not that I was looking into surgery, but I had to lose some weight and my doctor felt the need to mention that).

I am not the “hag” either but I think you have a poor attitude. Also, if you have had gastric band and are still eating sweets you are setting a bad example for your children. Regardless of whether these foods are home made they aren’t healthy and you are kidding yourself by trying to justify them that way.

Ok I’ll explain, the reason a couple ppl thought I eat a lot of sweets is because I love baking and talk about recipes all the time - they assume I eat sweets a lot because I bake them constantly (for my school aged kids) they then don’t understand why I’m a size 6-8 and assume it’s due to a good metabolism. Also, I never gained weight due to unhealthy eating as I’ve been eating same healthy diet since 14 and was always sz 8even after 2 kids. What skyrocketed my weight was severe PCOS (rapid weight gain was 1 common side effect of this.) I’m eating like I was before as I have always been healthy, the gastric bypass helped my pcos some how - the doctor explained it had something to do with the insulin I was producing.

To the idiots judging me about eating a home baked sweet occasionally, I’d be more worried about your severe judgment towards someone who you think is setting a bad example just because Theyre eating home baked sweets and giving it as a treat to their kids for school instead of buying store bought crap.
I worry how you function in daily life with such a bad judgmental attitude. You have no idea how I parent my children so shut your mouth and spread hate somewhere else. you ppl judging someone based on such nonsense is just toxic and hateful.

If it’s PCOS and not diet made you gain weight, how does gastric banding help? Shouldn’t you be addressing the insulin issue, not reducing the size of your stomach? Not judging just trying to understand:

Your post doesn’t make sense to me, I’ve never heard of gastric band for pcos, as other posters have said it’s an insulin thing not stomach capacity thing.

Also, I’ve read the comments above and while some of them disagree with you they are for the most part respectful. Calling people ‘hags’ etc is unnecessary.

I’m not going to waste my time explaining the specifics on how bariatric surgery helps PCOS, if you’re interested google ‘how gastric bypass helps PCOS’
Secondly people were not being respectful to me, they were saying my attitude was bad and that I was setting a bad example for my kids. That’s some toxic judgment made towards someone they dont even know.
Oh and it’s gastric BYPASS I had stop saying gastric band it’s completely different.

I used to, i use to think ‘stop eating and start moving!’, always thought being over weight was a choice, since there is so much science on weightloss, and its so ‘obvious’ - eat less, move more etc:... but guess what? Im fat ...Third pregnancy wrecked me! I eat pretty much perfectly to lose weight, the same as i did when i was thin, have done the 800 cal thing, fasting thing and never go over 5000kj per day, have never eaten fast food, soft drinks, meat plus a whole load of other stuff, walk a minimum of 13000 steps per day, am on my feet for at least 12 hours per day, walk the dog for an hour everyday, have used duramin, had a gym membership for a year and went everyday, dont drink alcohol...... And you guessed it STILL FAT!!! Its ruined my life to be honest, just waiting now for my kids to grow up, then i’ll kill myself.... So bottom line is, now i dont judge fat people.

Yes i have, been tested for everything, all comes back fine.... My whole family is thin, and i am the fattest person in living memory that the family has ever seen. It is devastating, i used to be really social, swim all the time, loved the beach.... Now im going into the ‘omg summer is coming depression’ its very hard being fat when you have trully done (and keep doing) everything right to lose weight... Its so bad now for me that (and i know this is horrible) i always think if id known it was going to be like this after my third pregnancy, no way would i of had that baby! Me being fat has ruined all our lives :(

Look mumma, you need to learn to live your body and let go of the negative aspect about being overweight ruining your life and that you wouldn't have had your third child if you had known the physical aspect of your body would change.
You are moving, you are feeding your body nutrious food. So fuel your mind with positive thoughts. Get back out swimming and loving life because the only life you're truly ruining is yours. And I think your family would rather see you happy and embracing the change in your body, rather then living a life half lived feeling Shame of something that you don't have 100% control over.

When I see someone who is really really big I find it really sad - I think how does this happen? How do they function in daily life? How long can their heart take this?
My sister in law was dangerously big - she's had gastric bypass surgery and has lost 60kg so far. She is doing so well - it is a hard road (I know people think surgery is easy, but it's not - it's just effective) and so much healthier a lot of her medications have been cut completely or significantly reduced. She's walking every day and feeling great. We are really pleased for her, it's great to see her happy.
