Yep, the narcissist's work starts slowly. You are adored & treated really well, then slowly the criticism & negativity begins, not to mention the gaslighting (possibly add some lying, boundary crossing & cheating). You think they must be right, it chips away at your confidence & self esteem, you're not the strong independent person you used to be, your spark has been snuffed out. You doubt yourself, your abilities & self worth. It takes time to gain your strength again & find your voice.

...... and no one will believe they are a narc, because they present an entirely different persona to the outside world, you are the crazy one.
