Can you do Paleo with small kids and a tradie husband?

Answered 4 years ago

Naturopath put me on Paleo diet for mood swings and hormone stuff, says the grains are too much sugar for me. The diet says meat for brekkie and a snack or shake for dinner. Today, the baby was sick and I managed some paleo seeds and cocnut yoghurt all morning, then cheated and had a home made wholemeal scone. Then I had an egg and some nuts but dinner, I had the meat of shepherds pie without the potatoes. There is not enough time as is to get chores done without cooking separate meals.

Easy trick for paleo - eat like a caveman , if they couldn't eat it neither can you - fruit , veg , nuts, meat. Don't limit yourself so much! And don't be so strict on everyone else's diet , your doing this for you. For example, if we have spaghetti Bolognese I serve hubby and kids with pasta and I have mine with potato! (I had a physically demanding job and was loosing too much weight so I included white rice and potatoes)

Made me feel a million dollars, but it does take planning and is costly, I'm being lazy at the moment but know as soon as I want to get serious about my weight paleo is the one for me

P.s that was all with a very light hearted tone , not being nasty at all! Good luck hun xx

No, a small child shouldn’t be eating a paleo diet (or any form of restricted diet, unless specified by a medical professional). Children need a whole range of foods to thrive.

Once you get the hang of Paleo food it will get easier. And yes kids and husband can do Paleo too. Can obviously throw in the odd sandwich for them for a quick lunch but won't hurt them having Paleo dinners
