I made this today. It's nice but I feel a little dry. The batter was delish. If it weren't for the raw eggs I would have eaten that alone 😍

Sorry! I’m here! Yes, I tried the Bec Judd one tonight. I used cocoa powder unseats if drinking chocolate so it was quite dark and Rick, but very delicious! I served it with vanilla ice cream and raspberries - thanks for the fantastic recommendation xxx

Hey, I made this cake the normal way, but a friend made it with Stevia, I think they put less in? Anyway, they were happy with it

I made it how it was written down but only used 150g caster sugar and it was fine. Next time I’m gonna do 100g. I always half the sugar amount in recipes

^very helpful, thank you

I was wondering that too, it will still taste sweet and you don't get that extra sugar. Thanks so much!

REPLY

Yes definately, there’s enough butter and drinking chocolate in there to make it sweet enough. I think I put in 170grams of butter as well as that all I had left.

I love a home made chocolate beetroot cake. But google has some nice recipes for it. Nice and moist and earthy, and even better if you are given home grown beets for free to use up lol

ANSWER

You wouldn't like mine. It's some flour, some milk, some sugar, some butter, some cocoa, some water, a few eggs etc. I dont actually measure, I just put in ingredients until I feel it's right lol. Always had nothing but complements for my chocolate cakes but 😂

People think she's just being a bitch when they ask for the recipe too 😂

REPLY

It's how I do 90% of my cooking haha. People constantly ask for my recipes then just stare at me when I list the ingredients. I get asked "Yeah but how much of everything?" and I just shrug and say "I don't know, some?" 😂

Diff person here. I have made it twice now. Once a cake and once a slice, both great. The cake seemed a bit more moist though

REPLY

I’ll try the cake next time. Maybe we overcooked it ours wasn’t really moist. And it fell apart

REPLY

Me again. Tasted better the next day and less powdery. Even a bit more moist. Maybe we were too quick to eat it after we took it out of the oven

Bec Judd's flourless chocolate cake.
Seriously, made it the other day. It's easy, tastes awesome. Will now be my go to for every cake. It is quite rich so smaller serves with cream and berries. You could also make it brownies or muffins or cupcakes. Google it. Enjoy: )

WHoo hoo! Great, ive just bought the ingredients, $10 per cake it works out to (before fruit/icing/cream) a bit pricey i think, so glad to hear its yum.

REPLY

I wrote above that I made it. I didn't do any icing, cream, berries. It is rich, like the person who suggest it say, so cream, ice cream or berries would suite. I'm not a fan on covering cakes with icing sugar, just my choice. Other a small bit (or 2 or 3 : ) ) with a cuppa is great!

Forgot to say, it's def worth the cost.
Also, the almond meal part is gluten free, BUT if you are making it for a gluten free person, make sure the drinking chocolate is gluten free!
