Genital herpes

Yes I'm "gross" and "dirty" and whatever else you want to call me but unfortunately many years ago I contracted this. Does anyone else know if lysine tablets can help control an outbreak? I can not get into the doctors and we have the double strength lysine cold sore tablets here as hubby suffers from them. Would it help me? Thanks

Thanks everyone. I ended up calling a pharmacy. They also suggested a round of favmir (I think) they use to treat cold sores. 3 tablets at once so I've gotten that and taken them also! So refreshing to have no hate comments...so far hahaha

Absolutely 1000mg daily is a fine treatment for genital herpes until you can see doctor or until blisters etc have gone.

It can’t hurt to try them. My hubby uses it for cold sores and it works great. It’s the same virus, so should work on the same principle. There is one called Lip-sine that has lysine and a combo of zinc and a couple of other things designed to help you fight the virus off.

Your best bet would be to ask a chemist if you cant get into your doctor or call a locum doctor out.. I think anything like that should go through a doctor who is qualified and knowledgeable in the condition.
