What are your thoughts on the whole Mum in active wear thing?

Answered 4 years ago

Do you wear active wear often? Just to exercise? To run errands? Why do you think this is seen as such a negative thing?

You can fit more food in if you’re wearing stretchy pants.

I live in active wear these days. I never go to the gym but I often take my kids to the park and have to chase after them. I need to be comfortable and have full range of movement and also wear good solid running shoes or I can’t keep up with my 3yo 🤣

I honestly don’t know why people get upset by this. Who cares. Just dress how you want . I only wear my active wear when I’m exercising but if I wanted to wear it while running errands or sipping latte with my friends I should be able to do so without judgement.

I think bigger women look better in active gear, I have skinny legs and look funny in leggings.

Depends how big. I'm size 20 and i wear leggings all the time and look ridiculous but don't care and have clearly given up on fashion

I personally judge people who wear jeans.
Like why sacrifice comfort for appearance?

I wear them even though I'm not pregnant. They're so comfy 😍

Ive worn jeans almost everyday of my life and i wear them because they are comfy! Haha! I never considered anyone would think my wearing jeans was an ‘appearance’ over comfort thing, when for me its a comfort over appearance thing.

I don't get why people like jeans. I have never found them comfortable or stylish.

Jeans are so uncomfortable. They are a thick heavy material. I’m with op, and there’s no such thing as comfy jeans haha.

Maybe you haven't discovered that most jeans nowadays are not thick material. They are thinner and stretchier, not 100% cotton.

That's so sad that the other lady hasn't found a comfy pair of jeans. Wait till you do 🥰

Woah. Haven’t seen this thread haha I hit a hot topic lol.
Yeah iv just never had comfy jeans. Before kids I had a size 6 lee jeans that looked amazing, but just uncomfortable.
Iv had boyfriend jeans, jeggings, softer jeans, iv never once found a pair of jeans comfortable enough to wear every day. And I haven’t owned jeans for about 5 years now. I wear linen, or cotton or leggings.
But I also live in qld so don’t wear long pants often lol.
I just find denim jeans to be the height of discomfort. Always have.

Why is it "so 5 years ago"? Active wear is becoming more and popular and is everywhere. I think this question is a lot more relevant now that it was last time

I think they mean the topic has been done to death.

I beg to differ. Type in active wear and see what comes up

Well you have 3 kinds activewear people. The ones who think dropping hundreds of dollars on activewear so they can take cute selfies for insta (the thirsty wannabes) & maybe take it to the gym to try to impress their friends. The woman who couldn't be bothered anymore - basically this generations track pants and genuine athletes.

Wow you spend a lot of time obsessing over how everyone looks. Next time look a bit closer, you will notice they are living their lives and not setting on the side lines. Perhaps you could try it!

There are two sorts of people, the ones who constantly bitch about everyone, materialistic, shallow and have huge chips on their shoulders over someone having something they don't. And everyone else. My mum spends her life "shuddering" when she thinks someone is overweight, taking the piss out of anyone with an expensive car or something she can't afford, and generally gossiping behind everyone's back. She genuinely thinks she knows everything and is superior to everyone. She is a very lonely old lady, with a very small world. Please don't be like that.

I "exercise" every day, but I only wear active wear maybe 2 days a week.
I say "exercise" because I only do walking or jogging and to me, it feels weird to call that exercise, given that I HAVE to do it (I don't have a car).
I wouldn't be comfortable wearing my stuff out every day, and I wouldn't wear it just for the sake of wearing it. But you do you.
If you want to wear it, go for it.

I wear active wear to the gym and pick up groceries on the way home, so what. Sometimes when I get home I do housework and then go for a run so I stay in my active wear. I don’t wear it to go out, but I exercise a lot so I’m in it a lot. By the way I look hot in it. Haha

ANSWER

Depends what you call active wear. I wear track pants and a hoodie as my comfy clothes. I'm not going to be in jeans all day every day. Leggings/ active tops I only use for exercise. I don't care what other people wear. If I bought expensive stuff I'd want to get good use out of it lol.

So I spent $120 on just leggings and a cropped jumper for my morning runs. I very much doubt active wear is a sign of beingslobby

ANSWER

I don’t wear it but I don’t care if others do. Ffs, why care about what other people wear? Live your own life.

I buy more active wear then other cloths. I don’t go to the gym. I live in it. I buy good quality and it usually matches.

Personally i just wear it exercising or around the house. I don't put on leggings or trackies and go down the shops, something in me just can do that. It's usually just jeans but i will wear a hoodie sometimes because they're big & warm & I hate the cold.

People can wear what they want it doesn’t bother me. I don’t like it for me (I’m a jeans and T-shirt person) but that’s just me.
