Having a shit day!

Answered 4 years ago

Anyone with me? It’s been a busy week, husband away for work, me looking after 2 kids under 5. Running ragged trying to get everyone to and from school and daycare and a full day at work yesterday then home to dinner/ baths. Tired! Up early to get 5 yo to school, 2yo been an absolute a*s! Kicking and screaming getting in and out of car, we were late to school, she kicked mud all over my clean pants! Get home and all she’s done all day is whinge and carry on. Couldn’t even go to the toilet without a meltdown happening! Over it today!! Who’s feeling the same?

I'm having a challenging few weeks.
Had a baby. Husband hours at work got cut to 15 hrs a week the same week. No money. Got appendicitis a week after having baby. Back in hospital. Can't afford anything, bills, food, anything because husband has not found a better job or something to supplement his income. Paid parental leave hasn't come through yet. I'm so thankful that we have such benefits!!
Older child broke their arm. Back in hospital.
Tension between husband and I is so bad now and things are getting nasty. It's too much with everything else creating challenges.
But baby is lovely. We have an amazing public health system andservices like centrelink for paid parental leave, otherwise we would be in real trouble

If it helps, I've been having a few shit weeks. Supposed to be going to Japan in four weeks but because of politics they won't classify it high
risk & airlines won't cancel & refund because apparently 'it's still safe'. So up to 6k down the drain.

Add to that two kids who shit their pants up to 5 times a day because one is ASD & one is in a power struggle with me. I get no break, no one listens to me & my DH still gets to go overseas for work.

At least I bought loo paper last week!!!

Damn, Ive lost money changing flights out of Hong Kong. Stressing they won’t let us travel at all in May. But the worst part......I am down to my last roll of toilet paper and can’t find any anywhere. I got caught in a stampede yesterday and missed out. But hey, others managed to fully load their trolleys. Hope they all get terrible dioreah ( however you spell that word) .

Yeah it’s been a shitter if a week for some reason. I went absolutely psychotic by Wednesday. Sick of my kids walking past their dad on the couch to interrupt me on the toilet. Sick of freaking washing with a toilet training toddler. SOoooooooo tired. I know it’s first world problems though.

I am past the kid stage, but I do feel for you. Those days are still fresh in my mind, and they are really dreadful. You begin to wonder why you bothered to take all this on.
I can still remember the frustration of not being able to go to the loo in peace, sleep deprivation, feeling like you are under personal attack on the power struggles.
My partner comes home after a week of leaving me with my 2 kids and his 2 kids, while he has enjoyed hotel eating; oysters, best quality steak, salmon, lobster, etc, plus cooked breakfast.
And then, because hes tired of hotel food, he only wants sausages, peas and mashed potatoes for dinner, which the kids and I have lived on for a week, and are absolutely fed up with !
Grrrr
