I hope they throw the book at him just for being an asshole

Also if he hadn't been using the freeway none of it would need to have happened in the first place. He wasn't just doing a little over it was extreme

He's not legally accountable for the accident. He's accountable for all of the other scummy things he did, though.

This is such a heartbreaking story

He is scum but But nothing is mentioned of the 40km/hr rule In a 100km zone that led to the truck driver ending up in the emergency lane anyway...whether he braked to avoid a car suddenly slowing down to 40 or took the emergency/shoulder as a split second decision to avoid hitting said car...the truck driver is at fault.

I can sort of half understand (a normal person) after the traumatic events if someone fled the scene because they were in fear or whatever 'fight or flight' as such, and then handing yourself in afterwards once you calmed down. But this (and his past) just shows what a true piece is sh.t this guy really is. Photos, gloating etc.. I hope he doesn't get out any time soon, it's utterly disgusting what he did and the video, what he said to a dying person and not even attempting to help any of them..going home to bed like nothing even happened. He only gave a crap about his car and some sushi...seriously? Why didn't his wife call police when he told her what happened that night? Have some common decency I don't care if it's your husband, that's not something to sweep under the rug and go to bed and sleep tight. 4 people just died in front of you and you care about the car the most?! Don't want to even begin to imagine how it felt begging for help whilst dying and getting that thrown in your face. Throw away the key for good on this one. He didn't kill them first hand, but his actions (illegal at that) led to them all having to be there, if he wasn't an idiot then none of this would've happened.

His actions after are what he is at fault for. He isn’t at fault for the truck plowing into them, that’s on the fuckwit truck driver. Fleeing is one thing, none of us know exactly how we would react when faced with that and as much as we would all like to say we would help, sometimes good people can run from fear or trauma. What this man did filming the police dying and complaining about his car is what makes him evil. The truck driver is responsible for 100% for their deaths.

He fled the scene of an accident not rendering assistance. That is illegal. And he took photos before he did so and posted them on his FB. Who does that ? He didn’t drive the truck but he holds some responsibility for sure.

One of the officers was groaning for help and he filmed her and commented how ‘amazing’ it was watching her die. He is worse then the truck driver.

So did the police car park in an emergency stopping lane? Why was the truck there at all?

He is at fault ethically!!! What a tool. This incident has made me so angry and sad. I didn’t realise people like him existed. I hope he gets charged with every single charge possible. His behaviour lead to the police officers dying. His behaviour afterwards was purely evil.
