Sewing machine

Answered 4 years ago

I'm looking to buy myself a sewing machine. I've never done sewing before but I want to learn.
Any advice on what brand to get, what to look for, or any helpful tips?
I want something not too complex as il just be starting with basics, but i don't want to get something that's complete rubbish either.
any advice really appreciated

I got a cheap one from lincraft, might have been $120. Think it's brother brand. Works fine for beginner stuff. My mum got me to get one for her too for her holiday house (to hem curtains and sew bits and pieces), and she hasn't had any complaints either.

Does it work well?
I wouldn't be against an Aldi one at all, if they're decent quality

Just beginner stuff initially... hemming pants, some basic kids clothes, probably not embroidering anything just yet
