Daycare during this pandemic

Answered 4 years ago

Do you think daycares are going to close down as well? I can’t afford paying for child care fees while I’m out of work at the moment.

What state are you in? I’m assuming when schools are forced to close that would involve daycares. If you are out of work and don’t think you will find something soon, perhaps you should consider taking your child out(I’m sure you already are thinking about it). There is nothing wrong with making tough choices, I would also wonder how many others will lose jobs so in that case, there will be spaces if you do get a job at some point. Goodluck, financial stress is the worst x

Really? Schools shut, daycare open? Weird logic. I'm in QLD and if I take my school child out I'll be taking my kindy (at a daycare centre) child out as well. I suppose that way they can still charge me fees!

Take your child out of daycare then.... If you are out of work, why are you sending your kids to daycare to spread and catch the disease? All of these people are whinging about paying daycare fees and sending them because they are worried they are being charged anyway 🙄. If the daycare is shut, you will not have to pay fees. Your allowable absences will not be affected. If you decide to keep your chn home for covid19 reasons, you will be allowed extra allowable absences. Ask your service about this stuff, also you could look it up yourself. I understand everyone is stressed and worried, but if you have access to this forum, then you have the capability to find this info out for yourself. This thing is not going to be over in a week or two, and then you find yourself scrambling for a place, it’s going to be at least 12 months until there is a vaccine and that’s if they get it right first time....
