Because we can. That's why.
Be offended all you want but its us that donates a truckload of clothes to charities each season to help the needy.

Im not offended at all, but you are delusional if you think sending truck loads of stuff to a charity shop is helping the need, i work for Anglicare so i have actual knowledge in this area.. People like you are the problem with society..

Well i don't know exactly what she meant but if I'd have to guess what offended her I'd say it was consumerism. Just buying things for the sake of wanting something ,you don't need it you just want it. Then there's the whole who made it, was it a kid in Bangladesh whos a virtual slave. She sees alot of the waste i would imagine alot of the clothes they can't sell & just gets dumped into landfills or shredded for rags....but I'm only guessing

Feel like i opened a can of worms, makes you wonder about your own wardrobe though. Like how many leggings to you own? How many jeans? How many tshirts? How many bras?

My wardrobe is very much an appropriate amount ...
But between my two girls they have a lot of clothes.
I’d say 15 to 30 of most all items dresses/shirts/shorts and skirts/jumpers/swimmers/undies.

We get given bags all the time and the girls do wear all of it. And my sister takes them shopping every time she visits.

School clothes they both have a uniform for every day so that’s 8 dresses 2 shirts 2 skorts.

My husbands is ridiculous he literally has over 40 board shorts. I get up him all the time as he only ever wears the same 3.
Same with shirts he’d have about 40 T-shirt’s and wears about 10.
30 odd singlets wears the same 5.
I can’t stand it.

I kinda thought it was normal to have that many kids cloths lol. Like I said they do wear all of them.

Hahah my hubby is the same but he refuses to let me throw stuff out. He wouldn’t even notice if I did.
We do own too much but it’s the luxury I guess some can afford to with both money and space to store the extra items.

Iv done that before then he goes down a size and wonders where those boadies are.and there’s only ever 1 or 2 that fit perfectly for surfing, or then he’ll start running again and drop back down to a 32 or loose 32 and say he needs new board shirts and buy more 🤦🏼‍♀️ It honestly drives me nuts.
At least with the kids I literally have probably only bought them clothes a handful of times, the last 2 seasons it’s usually buying leggings for my eldest.

I guess I just never thought of it as a luxury but I can see how it it.

Our boys are a little older now but back then it seemed like they had heaps of shirts, I would say 10-15 each. But they don't need that many at all.

My kids have 20+ each just because but only rotate the same few. 10 would be enough. If they're not too messy would only need to do their washing once a week

Depends how messy the child is. My kids go through one a day so i have about 7-10 but I could have less I wash frequently. Couple of things to consider I guess; how frequently you wash and how messy the child is
Goodluck

10 seems more reasonable.

I think you can get by with 4, and plan to wash every 2nd- 3rd day.

Maybe add a 5th one thats a bit more special or something he can wear out, but this could also be part of the 4 i think.

For on a holiday, or just to own on a day to day basis? My boys each go through a couple of changes if clothes a day so 7 shirts would be enough as long as you plan to do washing frequently enough to ensure there are always clean clothes on hand.
