Answered 4 years ago

We are approaching a big wedding anniversary and are looking for ideas to make it special? What did you do for yours/would you like to do on yours? A trip? A party? A new piece of jewellery? A holiday? Pls share. Thank you!

I got my husband a well thought out gift. I even had him help me pick part of it out since it pertains to a hobby of his.
He got me a cheap piece of costume jewellery. He put exactly 0 thought into it, and told me that I'm the idiot for staying with him when I got upset about it. Don't be like us.

I thought it would have been nice to have some professional photos done. Maybe a romantic dinner.

He was probably really proud of the piece he chose, he probably didn't realise his wife is so superficial 😔

Superficial? Perhaps. He didn't buy it. He found it at work. He literally found it on site, and thought "this'll do". So. Yeah. My marriage is fucked.

We plan our spending our 10 year (2022) in another part of the world. No idea where yet. Maybe Greece. Depending on travel restrictions etc but that's our plan.

Prior to kids our anniversary was always celebrated with a weekend (or longer) away, post kids it has been dinner and gifts, sometimes music gigs if the timing works.
For our 10 year we went to Hawaii (no kids) and it was amazing, we connected and had the best time. Would love to have done another trip for our 15th but we were in lockdown, so it was lovely home made meal and flowers/gifts delivered.
