Is anyone’s like me I forget to eat all day, I drink plenty of water and tea but don’t remember to eat to about 9 or 10 at night. I serve up dinner to hubby and the kid but don’t serve mine up cause I get distracted.

No matter what food I make/cook or buy I am not interested. I have tried all different things still no difference only time I do eat is couple days leading up that time month

I forget a lot of things...where my keys are, what day it is, what I did last week but I don’t think I have ever forgotten to eat. As others have said, see a doctor. I know you have already been but seriously go back. Something is not right.

I was the same. Happened all of a sudden (even though I never ate breakfast) I just didn't eat. I forgot, wasn't interested. Sometimes I would when my mum would force me to eat but I was never hungry. Went on for just over a year and then I was diagnosed with an eating disorder. Had no idea cos I just wasn't hungry, it wasn't me not allowing myself to eat. It was technically but I had no idea what was going on.

I'm the same. I get busy and distracted and just don't think about it. Plus I don't really love food. I do eat dinner though.

Please see a doctor as you may have an undiagnosed illness. Lack of hunger can be a sign of some illnesses.
I do sometimes skip meals if Im flat out but if I go longer than about 8 hours without food I get headaches so that reminds me to eat pretty quick. Unfortunately sometimes that's a muesli bar or something which isn't the best replacement for a meal.

Thanks i have seen my Doctor and had bloods ect he has said I am healthy and no underlying condition except for fact I am peri menopause which I have been for some time, I guess it is just that I sometimes get a headache or start to feel hungry at around 8:30 - 9 it is at that point I have to think if I have eaten or not. AS I said I am not so much worried was just mainly interested if there where other people who struggled with forgetting to eat/not being hungry

Hmmm throwing you a different idea here. How about making it a bit of a challenge. Explore different kinds of food every week, you could make them theme nights & involve the family. Mexican week/ night whatever just to get you trying different things might fire up your taste buds and get excited about food again. Maybe you and hubby could try different restaurants etc...when there's no Rona issues that is. Could be worth trying.

Funny you should say this I assign a different protein to each day of the week then we pick a theme for each meal and cook accordingly, this week we have had the following Sunday - lamb shank mash cauliflower and green veg , Monday - Vegetarian Zuchini slice salad sweet potato chips , Tuesday - Taco Salad, Wednesday - Greek Split Chicken, Salad and lemon potatoes, Thursday - Devilled Sausages cauliflower mash and green veggies, Friday - Fish Salad and Chips , Saturday - Go Out/Pizza or BBQ.

I am also open to suggestions

If you don’t have time to physically sit down & eat, try a meal replacement shake.

You may end up with nutritional deficiencies, hair falling out, poor skin tone etc. not to mention longer term damage to your health.

It sounds to me like you are drinking water and tea instead of eating. Maybe cut back on those things and try having at least 2 meals a day? You should talk to a doctor as this isn’t a healthy way to live, plus you are a role model for your children and they may eventfully pick up your poor eating habits.

If you’re worried about weight, you can make sure that all your meals are very healthy and nutritious (boiled egg or porridge at breakfast), salad for lunch, protein and veg for dinner. Good luck.

I’m sorry, but your response makes zero sense. You said you serve your husband and children dinner but then get too distracted to eat any yourself. This is just odd, why wouldn’t you sit down with the rest of your family for a meal? Do you have a problem with your attention span? You need professional help.

Well it never use to be like that we would all sit at the table together and then my husband preferred to eat in front of the tv and so did the kid. So while they eat I do other things, besides when I serve up there dinner I am not hungry. I mentioned above that I am in the early stages of peri menopause so it possibly is linked to that. I have had recent bloods and seen the doctor and they said I was healthy. It isn’t that I am afraid to eat, I am honestly just not hungry and the meals don’t look appetising even after spending time cooking a favourite I can take it or leave it. I was always someone who enjoyed cooking preparing and eating food I still enjoy the preparing and cooking part but nothing appears appetising and I am not hungry

Have you always been this way, or is it a recent thing? Are you stressed/anxious/ using food as a way to control things? You need to see a medical professional for help xxx

Thanks for the reply no I am not stressed, anxious or using food to control things. I have never been a breakfast eater as even when I was a child and would be served breakfast it didn’t matter what it was I would be sick. I eat in the lead up to my period but honestly I am not hungry the rest of the time

Really? So you only eat for one week per month? If you’re not a breakfast eater, don’t eat breakfast - no big deal. But what you are saying is that for 3 out to 4 weeks you hardly eat. This is disordered eating.

I will generally eat late at night when I remember occasionally will have a protein shake with a coffee shot. Mostly the 3-4 days prior to my period I enjoy chocolate ect. Honestly despite always not being the best eater food still looked appetising but now it dosent. I can spend time cooking a meal I am craving to then decided I don’t want to eat it cause I am not hungry or it isn’t how I thought it taste. I have always been a big veggie eater and still lean to veggies when I do eat. I know I am in the transition stage of peri menopause so mabey that is what it is

Is this actually a problem? If you’ve always eaten this way and are not severely underweight I’d say its ok. A bit odd but ok I guess.

No. I can’t stop thinking about food. It’s a curse. Consider yourself lucky. Maybe try taking supplements to make sure you are getting what you need. Have you always been like this? If not, you should talk to your dr about it to make sure all is well.
