Of course you can love them as a person but not have romantic type feelings for them. I guess you have to ask yourself is that going to be enough for you in this life. I couldn't be with someone I had no passion for, I need fire. Not constantly & not even necessarily physically but banter, jokes, being playful, having intense conversations but I always seem to be the black sheep of ...well everything so I'm not sure if that's "normal".
