We have 5 kids and are aged between 10 and 22 and we usually try to spend around the same amount on them up to the amount of around $300 each depending on what they want or need

This year was pricey for our 12 yr old as we agreed to buy her first phone (although it’s not top of the range we spent $489 on it). I have a few little things for her as well totalling about $50. The baby is getting about $10 worth though so hopefully it evens out!

When my youngest was a baby I didn’t get her anything for her 1st Xmas. She didn’t know or care. And had everything she needed. She is 8 years old now and hasn’t suffered because of it

Probably like $10, one small gift each. They get so many other presents from relatives etc and it's all just a bit much on the day. They're only little and it's all just more STUFF they don't need.

This year I bought gamea for the game system which aren't cheap so a few of those and a super hero gadget is all I am doing which brings it to over $300 all up. Which is half what I normally spend. But I am learning to not over spol now my child is older. As it set me up for failure. Lol I would say $200 is fair if no big ticket items.

I have older teenagers. I have bought them both a new phone so that is $1k each. I got them screen protectors and a case for said phone. They each got new backpacks, some clothes, a headset each for their xboxes, a bag of choccies ...

All up about $1600 each.

My step kids presents get bought by their father but we get them a gift from my kids.. $100 each. They got maybe $600 worth of stuff each? But they are younger and it is what their father can afford and quiet frankly have no use for mobile phones or computers etc at their age
