This happens to me when I wear some cheap earrings. Take them out and your ears should be fine within a few days

Did they give you spray to put on your ears? I was allergic to the spray. I just used liquid detol when I realised and it cleared up.

Sorry I thought you meant you just got them pierced. Still detol cures all earring related problems.

With proper care, most mild earlobe infections will clear up in 1 to 2 weeks. ... If the ear is infected, clean both sides of the earlobe with rubbing alcohol. Remove the earring and post 3 times a day and cleanse them with rubbing alcohol.

Had my ears pierced at age 12.
I used to be able to wear any sorts of earrings, but once I turned 35 I became allergic to nickel, out of the blue.
So that was the end of cheap dangly earrings for me.
Even silver started to upset mine a couple of years later.
So now its surgical steel posts and hooks only.

It's probably a nickel allergy. Sometimes older earrings might have the plating worn so you're touching nickel.

I paint the backs of earrings with clear nail polish. Do not paint the posts tho. They should be steel.

Do the earrings contain nickel? It's a common irritant.

If it's just new earrings (and not new piercings) than no. I'd say you might be allergic to them, or try disinfecting them before wearing them again.
