I'm pretty sure I heard that the restriction was lifted to stop people panic buying. Go figure

restrictions were put in place to stop panic buying you mean.
My grandmother rang me on the weekend because they've stopped making large casks of wine and it only comes in 2L now. And was upset she couldn't get her cask wine, moscato AND ginger wine in the same transaction because of the restrictions. That was Saturday just been

I reckon the restrictions were really put in to encourage people to panic buy alcohol. Nobody was stockpiling it really

People who drink everyday are kidding themselves that they're not addicted. I hate that my partner drinks often as he does, wastes money, stays up late drinking playing video games, and he does jobs around the house too but drinking everyday is such a bogan, dero thing to do. Bad role modeling for children too. I hate when people say I work hard I deserve a drink.... OK so you work hard then reward yourself with a poison, moron. We'll probably break up because of his addictions. I've tried so hard to compromise but he will always go back to do what he wants, he is selfish. Alcoholism runs in his family as well but he is too unevolved to see his behavior is the same.

I can't understand how alcohol is an essential service. It destroys lives but people still defend it like its God's gift or some bull shit

I might think of you later while I'm having a glass of wine

PP who commented on essential service, ^^ One of the reasons alcohol is still being sold is because htey dont want people going through withdrawls at the moment as it would require a hospital bed. 50x worse Id guess if a withdrawing alcoholic got covid.

My partner is not working with the current situation. He is taking the opportunity to crack a beer by lunch time every day.
But he is also up a 5.30am in the yard, has been cutting down trees and doing a huge clean up. is preparing to do a big slab of concrete out the back with a basket ball hoop and tennis wall for my kids.

He did 3 loads of washing today and hung them all out and brought them in

So I don’t care he’s having beers all arvo , he’s not drunk though

I'm not working with the current situation, I'm up at 5 maintaining my veggi patch and doing 3 loads of laundry washed and dried put away and making dinner and baking kids snacks etc, and Marie kondo -ing my house, and yet I'm not having beers and can still have sex with my partner! Weird..

Go you! You’re a champion! (sarcastic)
Op asked about day drinking, I replied appropriately that my partner is day drinking some days and that I don’t mind he is, pointing out that he is doing so much was mainly pointing out that he’s not sitting around on his arse drinking doing fuck all. Also that he’s not drunk as that seems to be ops issue.

A vege garden sounds great, relaxed outdoor work would suit me better too 😁
He dug out a hills hoist & poles Helsinki by a metre of concrete, definitely not my idea of fun, i would probably need carrying up and down our stairs the day following doing that kind of work.

We have 3 vege patches. The one that’s in the way of where the concrete is going is thankfully an above ground box one with legs on the box. If it can’t be moved I’m pleased it’s all herbs so if it needs to be emptied we can pick them all and empty the soil to move it.
We will be able to supply the neighbourhood with herbs cause there’s too much for us to eat lol

DH doesn't drink. I very rarely do.

I love, love, love that he doesn't drink. Never drunk, it stinks & is ridiculously expensive! We've done so much travel with that money.
