Thanks we are trying keep items to a minimum due to living a minimalist lifestyle and that have a dual person we like the idea of not having baby lying flat all the time and being able to make it more upright as time goes on

People often give them away free or sell very cheap. Once you are finished using it just sell it/ give it away.

Thanks it isn’t the money side of things it is just we don’t like having a lot of stuff, I was just hoping there would be something that was a dual purpose other then a reclining high chair

By the time your bub is ready for a high chair you won’t need the bassinet. So get the bassinet and then when you are done with it, sell it give it away and get a high chair. Babies and kids require a lot of stuff!

Thanks but would prefer not to have a bassinet, what would be the difference of purchasing a newborn suitable high chair compared to waiting till they were older say 4-6 months

Also just be aware something says suitable for a new born doesn't mean it is. Maybe wait until baby is born and talk to your maternal health nurse and get their advice. Newborns are meant to lay flat most of the time unless you get once of the carriers that are genuinely suitable from birth. Personal I don't like the idea of a highchair for a newborn

They may be able to recline but they are still sort of hunched up and it’s not good for their necks

Well what would be my alternative then it be used for 2 30 minutes periods of time I just need somewhere safe for Bub at a appropriate height

Honestly like ppl have said on the table in the middle if you want it at a higher height. Of course you would always be sitting right next to bubz never leave it alone! Baby will not be moving the first few weeks. I know u said hubby is very safety conscience but things change once you actually have kids and live thru it. We all have an idea of what we will do but reality is different. I said mine would never sleep with us but after 6 months of no sleep it was the only way to get a bit of sleep so I could Function the next day. You change and adapt to how you parent once you actually have a baby. Theory and the practical side of it can sometimes be quite different to what you imagined.

Please don't put a bouncer on the table. Every year a few children end up with serious inquiries if it falls off/gets knocked off tables & benches. It's too risky.

I used the bouncer on the table a lot. The key? Don't leave the kid unsupervised. Also it was right in the middle, they would have had to do a lot of bouncing to get off the table. And at newborn age, they aren't bouncing at all.

Same, used the bouncer on the table. With all three kids. Don’t leave unsupervised and always the middle of the table.

Thanks I would prefer to have Bub sitting in something rather then holding them whilst eating. My husband is very safety conscious and will not approve of it on the table

Yeah i use bouncer on table, in front of me, watching newborn, while eating.
They aren't going anywhere at newborn age

The ones that fully recline are fine. Mine reclined so Bub was in the same position as he would have been in the rear facing car seat, it even had a 5 point harness so baby wasn’t going anywhere.

I am referring to the ones that can be used from birth that fully recline of course I am not that stupid to use a standard high chair eg like the ikea one for a baby

Thanks I know my husband will not approve of the idea of a bouncer on a table or bench ect so trying to work around that

Been there done that, especially after a nice calming afternoon walk and you cone hone with a Bub sleeping soundly in the pram. Park that sleeping baby close to the kitchen while you prep and/or eat.

I have a very bad back so was looking for something that was at a better height rather then down on the ground. The ones from birth do have a special insert would you use it or do you have another suggestion

You can get ones that lie back and are suitable for newborns.
