embarrassing personal hygiene.

Answered 11 months ago

I have bipolar and have been in a depressed state for about a month now.
my personal hygiene is lacking and I am so embarrassed.
my child started back at school so I have to go drop him off and pick him up.
Worst thing is under my left arm pit has got a sore/rash/raw area that absolutely stinks of rotten flesh. I have been showering daily but even after a shower and washing it, it still smells horrible. what can I do? any tips on getting it to heal and not smell. I am so self conscious everyone can smell it cause just sitting here now it stinks

If it is smelling it could be infected. You might need antibiotics. Go to the doctor and get it looked at. Also have a chat about your current mental state. Hugs. It does get better

As the other commenters have said go see your doctor to get it looked at. In the mean time be careful what you put on it, no deodorant especially and make sure nothing is rubbing on it either. You could also try bathing it in warm water or a saline solution with a clean gauze pad to clean it and thoroughly dry it, make sure there is no excess moisture on the wound itself. Most importantly though is to get into a doctor as soon as possible to make sure there is no infection.
