I’m originally from Melbourne and currently living in qld, north of Brisbane in the Morton bay council area. I love the area we live in. It’s only 40min to bris airport, close to beach and bush, not too far to go to the Sunshine Coast although weekend traffic coming home is always slow and congested. Housing is cheaper too, With plenty of large 3000sqm blocks of land. If you haven’t yet decided where to live, I’d look first at where you can find work. Depends what profession/trade you’re in it can be difficult to find employment.
Over all though, I love qld. I even like that we don’t have daylight savings, but I’m naturally a morning person.

We moved from Vic to Sunshine Coast about 12 years ago now. Love it! Much better lifestyle for our kids and can’t imagine living anywhere else now :-)

We moved from WA to qld and are looking at Beaudesert as our base. It has all the things you mentioned. It is inland but an easy drive to the goldcoast, it is a large town so has has pretty much everything you need amenity wise and isn't too far from Brisbane.
