Nails every 2 weeks, hair every 6-8 weeks and microdermabrasion every 1 to 2 months. Before any trolls with shitty lives start judging - yes I work fulltime, yes I pay taxes, yes I have children, no I don't have a nanny or a sugar daddy and no i don't collect benefits from centrelink. Nobody forces me to do these things and I appreciate not being judged, as I would not judge you in return. I'm proud of my appearance and my husband loves the way i look. He's the only persons opinion that matters to me so judge away. Its water off a ducks back to me anyway :)

I have two small kids, there is no me time right now. I’m fine with that - won’t be forever. I honestly could care less what other people think of me and if you are basing respect on the way someone looks - then this is exactly what is wrong with the world!

I used to do my own nails, get hair and eyebrows done regularly and do my own facials except for twice a year when I would go to get them done. With a new baby now I’ve given it all up for a bit, still try to keep my nails nice and will do make up when going out. In a few months it will be easier to get back in my beauty routine.

Ladies I agree with the response to look after yourselves first. There is absolutely nothing wrong with looking amazing. The trouble is once you let it start to slip, it shows up in other parts of your life, like self-confidence, making friends, keeping your partner interested.

I know because I stopped caring and then couldn’t figure out why people didn’t respect me. It was because I didn’t respect myself. I had a massive wake up call. I have since lasered off hair in my body, got my eyebrows tattooed, get eyelashes tinted and curled, sns mani and pedi, buy new clothes, facials, exercise, Botox and fillers, and am looking forward to getting hair extensions. I wear make up and look after my skin. I have also lost 7kgs.

I don’t care about my image and people still respect me 🤷🏼‍♀️
Might have something to do with being a decent person, active in my community, smile a lot and give to families through my work(a successful home business)

But my hair is often simply tied I have no eyebrows and almost never wear shoes(‘Oatley only in airports) I’m often seem covered in zinc with wet hair fresh from a surf or swim. And I can’t remember my last hair cut.
I never needed to lose weight. But the things you mentioned aren’t really self respect.
Self respect is a knowledge of your worth and what you deserve and not allowing less.

I shower every morning... and even fitting that in has been a challenge the last few days with sick kids.
I get my hair cut once or sometimes twice a year. Never gotten my nails done, I can't stand the smell of the nail salons even walking past them at the shopping centre
