Son’s birthday party

Answered 4 years ago

What is everyone doing regarding children’s birthday parties that are coming up in the next couple of weeks? For obvious reasons we can’t have them but is it ok to postpone them or should it just be cancelled all together? Would you be understanding of people having a party after the situation has been controlled better?

I think you’re right they are going to get worse. All we can hope for now is it doesn’t last too long.

How old is your son? How about a virtual party via Facebook or whatsapp group chat - you could post them a ‘kit’ beforehand with sweets, a little game or toy, or whatever and do it that way?
Or delay it until things are better.

My daughter's party is next weekend. We'll cancel. She's only 4 but will be devastated because she doesn't understand & it's all she talks about. We'll still hang decorations, have a cake, Skype grandparents & have our own little family party.

This comes on top of cancelling our holiday. I feel terrible. But health outweighs guilt. *Sigh*

Happy birthday to her. I’m sure you will make it magical given the circumstances

I’ve just
Cancelled my sons party. Told him he can have a 8 and a half celebration 🙄

The half celebration sounds like a great idea but I’m not sure how he will go waiting that long if he doesn’t have to. At this rate though it is looking like it’s going to be another 6 months before life returns to some sense of normality 😔

Reschedule for when we get back to a sense of normalcy.

Thank you. This is what I was leaning towards but wasn’t sure if a late birthday was alright or if I was just meant to completely cancel any party.

My son turns 23 next week, we only have parties for 'big' birthdays which obviously this is one. We've decided not to have one at all, he's not too bothered. He can have one next birthday instead.

CANCEL 🙄

Definitely postpone it for the time being. When things improve, you can have his party .
