We also have one but don't use it. Too expensive to run.

Same. I’d rather spend money on fun stuff not drying stuff!

Clothes horse is mine

Mine runs every day multiple times a day. I prewash and dry all the kids clothes and buy sizes up to account for shrinking. I dont have a clothesline but even when I did I hated using it. My old dryer died so I saved up for a few months and got a decent heat pump dryer. Takes longer but it saves me on my electricity bill and it fuels my laziness.

Using it right now. Second day of rain and will last a few more. My washing is building up so I have to use it. Only use it when desperate tho.

I have clothes horse in the lounge, might take two or three days to dry but still dries. If i have lots of stuff to dry and need it asap or it's been raining and cold and wet for weeks i use the laundromat. $4 for a 36 minute drying cycle. I might do that 2 or 3 times over winter where needed

ANSWER

Clothes horse inside over the gas heater or next to a heater if u don’t have one. Will be dry the next day or at the very most day after

REPLY

Yeah but weigh up running a heater for a day vs a dryer for an hour

They may have the heater on anyway

I’m at home with the kids all day in winter in melb and trust me the heater is on from when we wake up till we go to bed. It is freezing some mornings at 9am it’s only 3-4degrees for school drop off

The heater thing also depends how many kids you have and how much space you have to dry everything.

ANSWER

I mostly use use the dryer to finish off drying towels and sheets that haven’t dried properly on the line. Everything else I hang inside on the clothes horse and they dry overnight.

ANSWER

Everything I wash (except bulky stuff like blankets) goes in the dryer. I have sensitive skin and we live across the road from a bush track and an open field with lots of weeds etc. Anytime I hang my clothes on the line I end up itchy for a week. My husband hangs his stuff on the line, but mine and the kids stuf goes straight to the dryer.

Rude much! I get such bad dermatitis and hay fever sometimes that I can’t function. I’m so sensitive to smells. Whenever I walk into target or big w for example I start sneezing from the dust and the smells on the clothes. I’ve broken out into hives before as well and haven’t touched a thing in store. I could smell my husband smoking when I was pregnant from down the road. It’s not easy having a compromised immune system

My daughter is the same her window was near the neighbours tree and the pollen or stuff that would fall off would iiritate her so bad. I’d find it along the window sill. I had to change her to a different room and the sniffles and coughing at night stopped

ANSWER

Yes, I barely use the clothes line. I'd like to say it's because I work full time but it's mostly because I'm lazy lol

ANSWER

No but Im planning to get one once we move house (no space for it here). I would only use for 2-3 months of the year but during those months it takes days for stuff to dry.

ANSWER

ANSWER

Me too. We’ve survived this long with the clothes horse and small garage clothes line during rain, so not going to change now.

ANSWER

Yes but I don't use it very often...usually only during prolonged wet weather events.

ANSWER

Don't need one. If the weather is shit, we have a fireplace

ANSWER
Nope, don't even own one. We have central heating, so if it can't get hung up outside it will still usually dry inside within a day/night during winter (We're in Canberra). Will reconsider if the need arises, but we've also got a laundromat within 10 minutes drive I'd probably try out first.

ANSWER

Yes. I live in a cold climate and with multiple kids and washing daily, the dryer is used often over winter! Less over the warmer months.

ANSWER
It gets really cold in the winter here and almost impossible to get things dry outside so I will use the dryer, especially for thicker things like towels and blankets. I hardly ever use it in the summer though.

ANSWER
Hardly ever. Maybe once or twice a year. I much prefer sun dried clothes and linens

ANSWER
Yup. More often than I use the clothes line

Yes
