Online delivery Coles and Woolworths

Answered 4 years ago

I don't understand why Coles and Woolworths are only delivering to vulnerable 'priority' people? They always did deliveries and click and collect as part of their service why can't they still continue? I now have to go shopping when I've always had it delivered. I have terrible anxiety going to the shops caused by my mum having panic attacks whenever she went to the shops and literally running away leaving me there as a little kid sometimes with a trolley load and I wouldn't know what to do, and she always was worried the payment wouldn't go through. I have such anxiety shopping that I start to think everyone is staring at me and sometimes think I hear ppl calling my name! Crazy I know. And being around ppl is exhausting to the bone for me so my food shopping day is all I can get done that day. I get sweaty and panicked, always rush to shops toilets with diarrhoea and so confused I spend 3 times as much! Online shopping and delivery was a godsend for me! When will delivery start again?

If you can try local butchers and green grocers sometimes they will deliver for you and team up with other businesses. We have a butcher, bakery, green grocer and small supermarket who work together and make packages up for people who can’t get out shopping.

Have you tried other stores? Our local IGA is currently delivering due to the lots of requests from people not wanting to go to the shops at the moment with no health info needed to get delivery.

They made it easier for just vulnerable people and the weight of people who weren’t would make it too hard to get orders out? I have a heart condition and am awaiting surgery. My cardiologist wrote me a letter and everything saying I shouldn’t be out and I still haven’t been approved. It’s been hard if I even get the normal flu I can die

Have you tried to see if you can get a delivery from Woolworths?? I know of some people who have had to apply several times before being accepted. I have recently being accepted. I just clicked on other reason and was approved within 24hrs the first time.
Coles have just started to open up click & collect again. Check and see if you can put in an order at your local store.
Could you possibly put your shopping list on air talker, or ask on a local fb page if someone is willing to do your shopping for you?
Can you get local butchers, bakeries, green groceries to deliver to you?

Have you tried logging in recently? I am guessing they have started opening up times in some regions as I was able to get a click and collect for tomorrow with Coles and my sister got a Woolworths home delivery yesterday. You need to log in and skip the pop up that talks about priority services. Then select the delivery or click and collect date/time. As mentioned above, maybe contact your local store manager. They may have a list of the local stores that are doing click and collect / delivery.

I’m so sorry to hear your experience. Could you email your local store manager and ask if a letter from your GP about your anxiety condition would allow you to access their services at present. Good luck
