Where to stay in Queensland?

We are planning a trip to Queensland next year to do the theme parks. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a family friendly resort? Not too pricey but preferably with a pool or something so we can keep the kids entertained as we plan to have a day or two just lounging at the hotel/resort.

It's our first family holiday (apart from weekend trips in the caravan) so any other advice would be appreciated :)

We stayed at Turtle Beach Resort highly recommend. We booked through Bluesky group (I think that's the name) they are a management group that lease out private apartments owned by landlords at the resort. Heaps cheaper and still have all the benefits of the resort facilities 👌

Wow. Just checked it out. Thanks!!

Breakfree have affordable self contained apartments. We've stayed with them 3 yrs in a row. There's no kids club but the accommodation is comfortable, affordable and convenient. Also if you don't want to drive and hire a car there's the option of using public transport. If you buy a go card you can have unlimited public transport for $10.00 per day (adult) and $5 per day for a child (5yrs and over). You have to buy the cards from a 7/11 or tourist info booth and can either buy 1 and reload for each individual day or buy a number of them and discard the used ones each day...having said this I know of lots of people who have stayed at turtle beach and said good things about it :) hope this helps

I forgot to mention though.. book a deluxe if you go with breakfree. The rooms are newly done up, have guaranteed air conditioning and comfortable beds. Although you might pay a tad more it's definitely worth it. Also you can join their loyalty club and get a discount/ email notification of sales ect..

Have a look on Airbnb, I find them better & cheaper than most hotels! Plus it's nice to have a kitchen so you don't always have to eat out.. Saves money in the long run. Ps: if you are wanting to go to the theme parks- look at the magic yearly pass on Groupon... It's 3 parks for an entire year for the same price as just going to one for the day!!!! :)

Treasure Island Holiday Park at Biggera Waters.
Great resort for families and close to Theme Parks.

Gold Coast holiday park! 2 kilometres from movie world and reasonably priced.
We just stayed for7 nights the last school holidays and paid $1079 in a motel suite.
Services daily, clean and will be staying there again
Check it out!
