Why would I? We both earn about the same and we share everything.

No, never. I ask first if I need to take some money.

No, why would I?
Also he would clearly see that the physical cash is gone from his wallet and eventually he would narrow it down to you being the culprit!

We have the same bank account- if you are married and he still has “his” money and you feel the need to steal because you are too uncomfortable to have a discussion about finances and why you need money, then you have a problem that needs resolving.

I rarely need to but if I do need cash and he’s got done I don’t hesitate taking it out of his wallet. I make sure I let him know as a curtesy so he doesn’t get caught out if he needed it.

I don't steel from his wallet, but I do buy target/KMart vouchers out of the shopping budget. I do get a bit of spending money, but that goes mostly on kids stuff. He is a great husband, he just worries about money, he would give me money if I asked but he would start to question what I spend it on.

It’s our money not his money. We both work full time. We share the cash.

I wouldn’t call it stealing, our marriage is based on socialism so we share everything down to the last penny 😂 if I want more I just tell him I need an extra $100-$200 I’m going shopping and he gives me his card or cash since he always keeps good amounts hidden ‘just in case’

Would you be happy if your partner took $400 to buy smokes and booze and go gambling on his own while you are stuck at home thinking about budget meals

^ I'm not the poster of this comment, but I'm the same, we share everything. I wouldn't have married my hubby if he was the kind of person to smoke, drink and gamble our money away.

My ex started smoking drinking and gambling when he became a FIFO worker

I don't have to ask and generally have his keycard and credit card in my wallet 😂 I do ALL the shopping / purchases. If he gets handed cash he comes home and chucks it in the cupboard in case I need it.. He grabs money if I don't pack him lunch.. It's just how he is..

I think if people are genuinely stealing from their partner there must be bigger issues in the relationship. Like is there some type of abuse happening? Or addiction?
Otherwise wouldn't you discuss it first?

Never

My husband always takes money out of his pockets (notes & coins) & just dumps it around the place so I find it I claim it & call it cleaning tax. It's the same when he forgets to take it out of his pocket & i'm doing the washing - washing tax. If he wanted it he should have been more careful with it.

I don't need to. He is a beautiful soul who shares everything. I'm blessed.
