You develop an addiction to it just as you would an illegal drug, it makes your mind race and cause insomnia, just as taking speed would

Thats why max time on it is 3 months to avoid addiction

Lol it is nothing like speed & I should know as years ago I dabbled in that. It is more like psuedoephidrine that they put in Cold / Flu tablets. Everyone's body reacts differently, I find that if you take it after food the side effects are mild & it kicks arse as far as weight loss goes! Duromine performs! It is not for people with mental health issues & may exacerbate these conditions

Hi everyone,
I am on Duramine now. And as someone with “mental health issues” I can guarantee you, that it should be a case by case process, which the doctor and patient can work through. This blanket comment is not just untrue but also discriminatory. I have bipolar and am fine on it along with my normal meds. Especially as some of the bipolar meds we take, leave us with a constant craving for food and yet no matter what we eat, we never feel satiated. So it is very, very difficult to lose weight whilst being medication compliant.
Also I have had illicit drugs in the past, including speed, and this feels more like I’ve had a strong coffee, but I’m not craving the croissant or whichever food you crave, to go with it! 🤣

Hi, I have used it effectively now for 2-months and have lost 11 kg. Started at 114kg and down to 103kg. Even though I am taking a mild strength anti-depressant medication, I have virtually no side-effects. This medication (40mg) has really helped with my appetite suppression, which was one of the main causes of my overeating and weight gain. Whilst there is some caution over the potential for addiction, I have had no such sensations, but I will abide by the Doctors requirements and after the next month, I will have a break and then go for another round to eventually achieve my goal weight (88kgs). Good luck to anyone using this medication and I hope it works for you.

If its taken early (5 or 6 am when getting up) it suppresses appetite and gives a boost to energy and metabolism. As a short term kick start medication I didn't find it addictive. It helped me.

Or theyve seen the effects its had on their loved ones - perhaps ... i have taken it and so have friends . We were ALL snappy bitches that would bite heads off when were usually all so chill.. none of us seened to notice while we were on.. only after we were back to our usual calm selves ... also they put the weight back on as they struggle with obesity and it doesnt change how u eat once your off them just stops appitite while you are on

Duromine is not a life long magic option! It is merely to initially get the weight off then it's your responsibility to maintain that weight loss with exercise & sensible eating. It is not for people that are just going to gorge themselves & be lazy after drawing taking it. Your attitude sucks!

Hi
It’s essentially legal speed prescribed by a dr. I wouldn’t touch it, not because I am a prude .. I’ve had a very lively 20s... but because the weight loss isn’t permanent and the side effects on your metabolism and mental health when you stop aren’t worth it.

Move more ... eat less. I’ve been IF for 6 months and have slightly lowered my carb intake and it’s been great. No drugs or nasty ass side effects

Duromine worked amazingly well for me! 15kg down and I have kept it off. The whole 'just eat less' etc, is a tired and over-used trope! If people could kick food addiction as easily as it is to say those words...nobody would be overweight! I had almost no side-effects of Duromine. Some dryness in my mouth and I needed to take it early in the day to sleep well at night. That's it. I don't think you should knock what works for some people. I was obese and depressed. It's not a magic cure, you do need to change your habits to keep the weight off. But it helped me get started after years of stop-start patterns and feeling hopeless.

Lol it is nothing like legal speed... You have clearly never had good speed! If you have, your dealer probably gave you psuedoephidrine substitue, which is in Flu/ cold tablets. Many dealers do that. Duromine is closer to cold tablets in sensation.

I know a lot of people that have been on it and yes lost a shit load of weight but out of all them people close to 8 out of 10 of them were compleatly different in personality, for some of them becoming violent and also a couple of marriage break ups, think very carefully before going down that road

REPLY

Not sure what type of people you associate with... They must of had violent tendencies to begin with. I have used Duromine many times when I was modelling to keep my weight down & I am currently on it again. Myself, nor anyone else that I personally know if have been violent or a split personality when taking it. It is not for people with mental health issues!

I have been taking it for 6 weeks. I take it early in the morning & have a light breakfast right after taking it. I force myself to eat 2 more light meals during the day ( to me its all about training myself to make the right food choices & eat less) i have lost about 1.5 kg a week which my doctor is happy with this. I would obviously loose more if i didnt eat 3 meals.
I also make sure i drink atleast 1.5 l of water a day which i think prevents headaches. The eating prevents headaches too.
I get dry mouth. If i take the tablet after 9 am i have trouble sleeping.
I think the people who become snappy is more the people who don't eat at all.

My doctor suggested them 3 times before i started them.
Obviously they can be abused because my friends husband offered me twice the cost of a packet to help him with night shift!
They are expensive at $110 a month for 30 mg packet. I was going to try taking them every second day & my doctor advised me against this, apparently its a sure way to make me moody.
I also take anxiety tablets which they do not effect.
People can judge & call me lazy all they want. I exercise. The pros out weigh the cons for me. I need to loose weight for health reasons.

I still eat mms , a family pack has lasted a month & its still half full lol
I just asked my kids if mummy gets cranky & they said yeah when we don't finish dinner. I used to eat their leftovers because I can't stand wasted food esp on my budget.
i also asked them if i have been different since i got out of hospital. They tell me 'dessert day is simply ridiclious!'
We are all changing eatting habits. My kids are all healthly & in a healthy weight range.

47 kilos down and counting since November. I chuck back a duromine once every 2 to 3 days, hit the home gym like crazy, eat healthier but everything tastes like chalk because of my birth control anyway, down 4 liters of water a day because of the extra exercise. My house is clean, I no longer am dying from a bad heart, my kids love the new me. 9 weeks off duro. Still lost 12 kilos on my own.
doesn't feel anything like speed. If your speed made you feel like this then I think your dealer ripped you off and you should ask for your money back cos you've been jipped. Duromine gives me a suppressed hunger and a slight boost to energy.
My marriage has never been stronger. I'm back to the confident girl I used to be.
Only a small amount suffer side effects. Ie constipation because you didn't drink enough water to accommodate your extra sweat from exercise.
Headache again not enough water.
sleeplessness you took tablet too late or too higher dosage
dry eyes. Irritated by extra housework moving dust around and from dehydration
it's not for everyone. Those with mental health issues shouldn't take it. Those with addiction issues definitely shouldn't take it

I’ve taken speed and all types of uppers, gained heaps of weight through injury not being able to move about etc, and with lack of mobility available to me it’s one of the only options I have for weight loss. I have been on them now for just over a week and lost 7kgs, 18 to go. Side affect for me has been I feel like I’m buzzing after 3 hours from taking it for another 3 hours then I’m fine

I take it daily, some days I feel sick ,
Some days I feel fine, it really depends how soon after breakfast I take it ... hunger thee rest of the day is either very very little or nonexistent.. every morning I wake up and I have a bacon, jarlsberg toasted roll with Ketchup . The rest of the day I drink water and around 3 pm I have a “go ahead” biscuit as that’s all I can fit in. It’s day 12 and I have lost 6.5 kg! I highly recommend it, your doctor explains everything and you need to have good blood pressure to have it.. so think about it first, it’s a commitment . If you are serious about losing weight and you have tried everything else , this is an option. Follow instructions and meet with your doctor half way through the month . Good luck :)

Maybe you used shit speed because speed has a much greater effect than duromine.
Lots of medications have a long list of side effects. It does not mean that you will get any side effects

There is a lot of misleading information on this thread.
First off it is only known as legal speed as a street term! It has amphetamine but a different class like there is a name for crystal and methylated etc. also, there is an enzyme added to Duromine/metermine that makes the body use stored energy before incoming energy/food.
