Mine is the same, and I’ve had this discussion with friends...”isn’t it funny that if you ask a woman to do the dishes, she will do the dishes, check to make sure there are no other dishes to clean that might be left in other parts of the house, wipe the benches and put everything back in its proper place so the kitchen surfaces are clean and tidy and dishes are done. If you ask a man to do the dishes he will do the dishes only, and only the dishes within immediate reach of the sink.” I think it is pretty common, that doesn’t make it right, but at least you aren’t alone. I don’t ask him to do dishes anymore, but I also don’t wash his clothes anymore or make him lunch and I only cook about 3 nights a week, so that helps lessen my resentment 😁

I understand how this would be annoying, but surely after 26 years you would have been able to adapt to the situation? Like making sure everything you want washed is stacked next to the sink, and accepting that wiping benches is your thing. It's not fair that you have to do it, but for 5-10 minutes effort you could save your sanity. If you are doing all the housework, as another poster suggested stop doing something that directly affects him, like his washing.

If he is kind, respectful and loves you, then look past it. Just don't wash his clothes or something.

Agree here. Mine will do just about anything except wash up and mop floors. And those are 2 things that I absolutely hate doing as well so you can imagine what our kitchen looks like πŸ˜‚
