5 years ago my marriage was in a rut. My husband was spending time with a female workmate considering leaving me for her. I was in a crappy job and really unhappy. Present time...my husband realised He loved me and had to put more effort into the marriage. We are better than ever. I start a new job next week and I’m really happy. In five years I hope to still be happy in marriage and at work. My kids will all be adults so hopefully my husband and I can do some travelling.

Not sure why you would want to keep a man who has an affair to make himself feel better then comes back to you. I work with men there is never only one woman it’s always multiple.

He didn’t have an affair. He worked with her. We weren’t happy as a couple and she was a nice single lady. He wondered if he’d be happier with her but decided to try harder in our marriage. I kept him because he chose to admit these feelings and worked hard to make us happy again. He didn’t give up on us.

5 years ago I was in the thick of PPD. And was turning to toxic people to try and feel better. It led to a really dark path where I very nearly killed myself.
Today I'm much better mentally. I've limited contact with the toxic people (I have reasons for not completely cutting contact altogether), and I've been trying to find better coping mechanisms.
5 years from now I hope to be back in the workforce, once all my kids are in school. And I hope to be able to afford a car for myself and the children to get around in. I also hope to be down to my goal weight by then (between 63-65 kgs, where I'm currently on 89). I hope to be more organised in my routines with the children, and be able to take some time out for romance with my husband.

5 years ago I was content, I worked a decent job that I enjoyed but wasnt passionate about and it was just me and my family.
Now I am really happy, I have a job that I love in my sport that I am passionate about, working with people I admire and get along with. Best friends that I see regularly and surround myself with people who love me for who I am. I do things I never thought were possible and kids that are growing up into amazing people
In 10 years I want to be exactly where I am at the moment, but with more travel

Stuck 5 years ago, stuck now. Who knows what will happen in 5 years time. I can only hope to be happier and that's better than no hope.

In the last five years I changed my work, completed a degree and got promoted. I came close to leaving my husband but chose not to cheat and work on the marriage. He was taking me for granted so I said this ends or this ends. I am so much happier I was always afraid to be on my own but since I do everything anyway being on my own doesn’t bother me. The next five years I haven’t planned. I thought I might work on a business idea.
