Child support

Answered 20 days ago

So waiting on a child support assessment to be processed and my ex says he will only put any money into our child's bank account to be saved for the child, not mine, so I can't spend it on whatever.
I'm kind of frustrated, can he do that? I mean I still have child related things to pay for as well! 😔

No he can’t
Ring child support and ask them to collect it on your behalf

Child support will garnish the money from his wages and deposit it into your account. He sounds like a fuckwit, much like my ex, They think coercion and threats will make it better for them. Ignore him and his bullshit games.

He can do that if he applies to the courts for an order. As the court over rules anything the child support agency can do as they are a federal agency. It’s unlikely but not impossible.

Go through CSA and do agency collection. You then nominate the account it is put into and he has no say over it. If he refuses they chase it up. Private collection is only good for parents with a good and open co-parenting relationship or if you don’t need/want any child support from the other parent.

No he can not do that! The money is supposed to go toward you paying things for the child
The problem is if you are doing a private arrangemnet
It might be worth calling child support hotline and speaking to them
You might even consider going through civil mediation
