Royal Baby Names for Boys and GirlsWhy do the Royals recycle names? Can't they afford new ones?

The British Royal family tree can be traced back to antiquity and yet the same few names keep popping up.  They may be Scottish, Welsh, Irish, German, French, Spanish, Greek or Russian versions of these names but still the list is very small. Why? Is it Tradition? Or is it just the fact that they all married their cousins or second cousins. Let’s call everyone “George.”

Take for instance Will and Kate’s first little bundle… George Alexander Louis.  George was the name of 6 British Kings, 2 Greek Kings and even a dragon slayer.  Alexander as in “Alexander the Great” (a throw back to The Duke of Edinburugh’s Greek heritage and Louis. Well, there were 18 French Kings called Louis, I didn’t count the Ludwigs etc.  Big shoes… no pressure little George.

Oh and what about that precious Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana? She has been named after Grandad Charles. What are the chances she is going to keep that sweet little button nose?  We all know where the name Elizabeth comes from and Diana had to be thrown in there but put down the back out of sight.

There doesn’t seem to be anything new happening.  Maybe the royal family needs some new blood (some that clots) a new scandal perhaps… Imagine if a member of the Royal family produced an offspring with some of the Hollywood elite.  We could say goodbye to names like Anne, Mary, Alice and Louise and hello to Fifi Trixibelle, Apple, Ocean and Memphis Eve. We could give the big “A” to Arthur, Albert, Andrew, Anthony and Alexander and bow our heads to HRH Sage Moonblood, Kal-El, Kyd or Maddox.

Those stuffy European castles need to take a leaf out of the House of Jackson. Although a fairly conventional name, Prince Micheal II is known better as Blanket and his cousin (Son of Jermaine) has been christened Jermajesty.  Now that’s fancy, classy and unusual yeah.

I assume many of you also want to name your babies after royalty because why not – and I assume that you don’t really want to name them Sage Moonblood – so we prepared something to make the decision easier (actually harder) AKA printables containing classic Royal Baby Names.
