Cleansers: Use It Morning and Night!

Cleansing is one of the most important steps when it comes to anti-ageing and one of the tricks to keeping your skin soft, hydrated and looking its best. 

Years of research has shown that cleansing is an important step in keeping your skin healthy; removing impurities, dead skin and excess oil.

We know it’s important to cleanse at night, apart from removing daily toxins, its vital that we remove the day’s makeup from our skin to keep it clear and blemish-free.

Makeup left on overnight blocks the skins natural abilities to exfoliate and detoxify itself by depriving the skin of oxygen required to perform this important task.  It’s been shown that makeup left on overnight can be absorbed deep into your skin, enlarging pores, and once pores are damaged they don’t easily repair themselves once enlarged.

Missing your night-time cleanse, or using an inadequate cleanser, also means your skin won’t have the ability to absorb vital nutrients and anti-ageing ingredients from any over night moisturisers or serums you apply.

But what’s so important about cleansing in the morning you ask?

Over night, our skin changes, it enters a detoxifying mode, a natural process where cells divide to replenish dead cells. 

These dead skin cells need to be removed to avoid dull, lustre-lacking skin appearance, and a quick morning cleanse is the way to go.

Another product that is brilliant for young skin, within days I’ve seen it transform skin to smooth glowing perfection, and its great value for money. Its cooling and refreshing and generally works a treat on sensitive skin too. The scents are intoxicating, I also feel like I’ve opened a bag of lollies! 

Dove Beauty Cream Bar

while I have never been able to bring myself to use these on my own skin, my mum has never used anything else since she discovered and her skin is AMAZING! She looks about 15 years younger than she is! And it certainly doesn’t break the bank in terms of cost!

This is another cleanser that is high on my must-have list, YTTP are vegan, ethical, and their products work a treat and leave your skin feeling pampered and protected. This cleanser is packed full of antioxidant-rich kale, spinach, green tea and alfalfa. Yes Alfalfa! It’s said to soothe skin and make it look brighter, plus it has just about every individual vitamin you would want to use on your skin.. all in one edible plant!  It has also had great results on my teenagers skin when she’s had troublesome breakouts.

When I’m not sharing my expensive sample cleansers with Miss 14 this cream cleanser is one of her staples. Its gentle, creamy, and free from nasties like sulphate and parabens. What does have is a glowing list of naturals like rosehip, avocado, wheat germ and Aloe Vera.

This is another great product for young skin, well, all skin really, I happen to love as much as my teen and its great value. The scent is beautiful; it leaves your skin soft and subtle, and is suitable for all skin types.  It can be washed or wiped away too, bonus!

It also restores the skin’s natural purity. Bioderma created the very first micellar water and I have to say, is still my favourite!

Lancôme Crème Mousse-Confort Comforting Creamy Foam Cleanser RRP $63 

This is one of my all time favourite cleansers. It gives a deep clean, easily removes makeup, and leaves your skin feeling silky soft and in great condition. It’s been fabulous on my teens sensitive, blemished skin too. The light rose scent is divine.

Aspect Dr AHA / BHA Cleanser RRP $ 59.00

The lactic acid in this exfoliating and foaming cleanser help to gently resurface the skin and promote epidermal hydration that basically means hydration at a deeper level than a cosmetic product while Salicylic Acid helps to remove impurities and unclog pores. It leaves your skin feeling really, really clean! 

I always turn to this product when my skin is feeling dull and lifeless. It can tingle a little if your skin is in a weak state.
