Gym Bag Beauty Hacks

You don’t go to the gym to come out looking good, if you finish your workout looking like you did when you went in, you wasted your time! Quite often though, the gym time is squeezed in between all the other things we are trying to get done that day, perhaps before work or a night out with family or friends. If you need to step out of the gym locker room looking like you haven’t batted an eyelash and are ready to work or party, then it is all in the gadgets and tricks you pack into your gym bag. Check out some of these great ideas.

No time to wash your hair?

Dry shampoo is your new best friend, just a quick spray and a few seconds under the hair dryer (or hand dryer if you have too) and your hair will look, feel and smell clean and refreshed. It also works great for deodorising your shoes or gym bag as the same ingredients that freshen up your hair will work on other things too.

Still too hot and sweaty for makeup?

Even once you’re showered and trying to do your hair and put on makeup, if you’re still hot from your workout you will keep sweating; making flawless makeup difficult and a good hairdo nearly impossible. Stash some oil absorbing facial wipe sheets in your bag and after applying foundation, blot away any sweat that comes through. Also great along your hair line and in your scalp where you continue to get slimy even after you’ve cleaned your hair.

Bodies don’t stop sweating either! Find yourself a good quality, unscented antiperspirant and deodorant and don’t stop at your underarms, put it anywhere that won’t stop sweating like your lower back, between your shoulder blades or along under your underwire.

Hair a bit dry and limp?

Make the most of your workout by treating your hair while you sweat. A good, light leave-in conditioner is great to spray on before a workout as the heat from your body sweating opens the hair cuticles so they absorb the moisture better. At the end of your workout your hair will be smoother, less tangled and with quick dry shampoo will be beautiful all day.

Flyaway hair everywhere?

After a workout, every hair seems to be out of place and not just the ones on your head. A clear mascara is your best post-gym choice as it won’t smear or run while you’re still warm and its not only great for eyelashes, you can also tame wild eyebrows and slick down any pesky flyaway head hairs that just will not stay put!Gym Bag Beauty Hacks

Gyms can be a bit germy!

After handling all those communal hand weights, barbells, equipment handles and cardio machines your probably all too aware that a good hand sanitiser will not go astray. Not only will a good pleasant smelling hand sanitiser be great for your hands but its also good to add a couple of drops to your makeup brushes, hair brush etc. After all, they are rolling around in your gym bag with your sweaty clothes and shoes.

A sweet scent without that bathed in effect!

You don’t want to walk into work or a dinner date smelling like sweat, but it can be a bit of a fight between perfume and new sweat when you’re in a hurry. Provided you don’t have sensitive skin, a fragrance mist could work great for you. A beautiful smell that isn’t as strong as perfume and the alcohol in the spray will dry out any damp areas formed by new sweat, so you smell good and stay dry.

These are just a few of our favourite must haves to save us after a sweaty workout, do you have any others to add? What can’t you live without in your gym bag?
