Today I’m continuing to share my TOP 5 simple everyday health and wellness tips.

Tip number 4: Drink lots of water

Try to get into the habit of taking a bottle of water with you wherever you go.

Keeping water handy will help you stay hydrated and stop you from reaching for the closest thing available when you become thirsty. Soft drinks, iced coffee, shakes and juices can sometimes contain as many calories and one of your meals. Adding these into your day will dramatically increase your total calorie intake and usually without providing much nutritional benefit. Also carbonated drinks full of sugar and caffeine will actually cause further dehydration rather than satisfy it.

Many people often mistake hunger for thirst and eat unnecessary calories when they are actually thirsty. So by staying well hydrated, you are also less likely to overeat. Having a glass of water just before your meals can also keep you feeling full. Water is by far the healthiest beverage and the more you can drink everyday instead of sugar and caffeine filled options the healthier you will be and the better you will feel.
