8 Easy Hacks to Prevent Food Wastage

5. Don’t Throw Out the Crusts!

Bread Crust

If you don’t have a crust-loving family (seriously – they are the BEST part of the bread!!!), don’t just chuck them out. Keep one bread bag and every time you get a crust piece, keep adding to it. Bread crusts are perfect for making fresh breadcrumbs. They can be used to soak up excess oils when frying, or you can stick them in the backside of a roast chicken to stop the stuffing from coming out! So handy!

6. Don’t Throw Out Manky Bananas

Manky bananas are the BEST! Never chuck ’em out, just pop them out of their skin, break in half and pop them into a ziplock bag. They are great for fresh banana ice cream (just process the bananas in a food processor – instant ice cream) – or add to a smoothie. Or make the most amazing banana cake that man ever created! So handy to have in your freezer!
