Do you have an iPhone 5 with a dodgy battery life? Did you know you could be eligible for a replacement free of charge?
“Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently. The affected iPhone 5 devices were sold between September 2012 and January 2013 and fall within a limited serial number range.”
Apple recognised that a certain production line of their iPhone 5s have a critically low battery life. And low and behold, they have come to the rescue with their Battery Replacement Program! While they have admitted it is quite a small percentage, it’s definitely worth giving it a go. I was at my wit’s end and just about to replace my phone all together. I couldn’t even have a half hour conversation before my phone was dying. I thought I better have a look around for a replacement battery first and as soon as I entered “iPhone 5 replace battery” into my google search this link came up!
All you have to do is enter your phone’s serial number on this page and you can find out if your phone is eligible or not.
To find your serial number on your iPhone, simply go into your SETTINGS and select GENERAL. Scroll down and your serial number will be in this area. Or, if you still have the box it came in, it will be on the side of that.
If it says you are eligible, it will then give you directions to follow, including where to find your closest Apple store or dealer to replace your battery. Make sure you back up your phone before taking it to the store though, as it will reset to factory settings.
Have you had any luck with the Battery Replacement Program?
