Practical Things Mums Should Do Every Single Day to Get Motivated!

Leave the House on Time – Regardless of How ‘Ready’ the Kids Are

Little Johnny is still looking for his shoes – well Little Johnny, if you had put them away the night before like Mummy asked, you wouldn’t now have this problem.  You only have to take them to school (hide the shoes in the car) once without them for them to learn to put things where they belong!

Get into the habit of telling the kids exactly when you will be leaving, and have a clock in the house that is big enough for the kids to read. So there will be no excuses.

Once in the car, put on a Podcast that the whole family will enjoy.

My boys love hearing podcasts on Sharks.  Not only do they love to listen to it, it keeps them quiet, and they learn something!

Prepare for Tomorrow, Tonight

So you’ve delivered the kids or have them at home, and have worked through your list – great.  Save a bit of time tonight for preparing the day tomorrow.

Things like:

  • Emptying the kids school bag, check for notes, lunch boxes (they will forget them) – any crusty hats etc.  And packing them for tomorrow (except for lunch) and putting them right at the front door.
  • Laying uniforms or outfits out the night before.
  • Laying your outfit out the night before.
  • Check your diary or calendar to make sure you haven’t missed ‘Bookweek’ or ‘Dress like a Dinosaur’ Day.  If you are hopeless with dates and phones, have another super organised Mum send you reminder notes!  There are always those Mums out there that are happy to remind Mums like us what we have forgotten!
  • If you are super organised, you can make all the lunches the night before and have them in the fridge ready to go!

At the end of the day, enjoy a nice glass of wine, put the kids to bed at a reasonable time so you have time with your partner, or yourself!!!
