On my recent book promotion tour to Sydney I popped into Kinderling Kids Radio.
For any mum that’s been bored by listening to the same kids music over and over (and over) again, then this is the station for you.
Even better, the shows are designed to soundtrack your family’s routine – the music is bright and energetic in the morning and later in the day, when everyone’s a bit feral, the music is calm and soothing.
It’s particularly helpful in that late afternoon stretch in getting the kids to eat, in the bath and ready for bed. The real winner is their Sleepy Soundtracks program.
If, like me, your kids won’t cooperate and get to sleep, this program of ambient music and lullabies will calm them down and help them sleep through night. I can see why it’s their most popular show and wish I had this when my kids were younger!
And best of all, Kinderling have an App that’s totally free. In the Kinderling App you can download free kids music and stories to your phone and listen to it without chewing up data wherever you are (perfect for our long car trips!).
I also really like talking to Shevonne Hunt, the presenter of Kinderling’s daily parenting show, Kinderling Conversation (you can check out my interview or see my Facebook Live chat with her on their website). Kinderling Conversation is a great show – every Monday they have a midwife on air and you can call and ask her anything about your baby, but they also cover great topics on early learning and childcare, health and wellbeing and general parenting hacks to help with toddlers and pre-schoolers. So check out Kinderling and have a dance with your kids.
