How To Make Puff Paint

There are so many puff paint recipes in the internet, yet none that’s actually puffy.

And there are those that’s puffy, but you will need a microwave. I know most households have one so the puffy paint recipe is great for you. But not everyone has a microwave. And if I can find a recipe that doesn’t need one, why should I bother?

I recently found this Puff Paint recipe from artfulparent.com and it’s amazebaaaalls. The kids love the result and I’m pretty impressed, too. So we thought we’d share it to you!

You will need:

  1. Shaving cream foam (not gel) – 3 cups, but prepare one or two cups more just in case you’ll need it.
  2. Flour – 1 cup
  3. Elmer’s Glue (or any white glue you have available) – 1 cup
  4. Food colouring
  5. Ziploc bags – preferably sandwich size
  6. Cardboard or boards or paper plates

How To Make Puff Paint

Prepare the stuff you will need, then organise them into a spot together so you can easily reach out for tools and ingredients.

In a bowl, mix the shaving cream, flour and glue.

Split the mixture into three or four small bowls then add drops of food colouring.

Scoop the puff paint from the bowl and then transfer in to the sandwich ziploc bags.
