The kids are back in school and life has hopefully returned to normal. And while we all can admit that it’s nice to spend school holidays at home with the kids, being home day in and day out can be draining and, quite frankly, horrible. One way to beat the school holiday boredom blues next time around is to consider a holiday or even mini weekend break away from home. Even taking a day or weekend away from the house can refresh everyone for another school term.
Family Holidays at Paradise Resort
I have to say that I have done a lot of research on various resorts across Australia and Paradise Resort on the Gold Coast ticks all the boxes. It is located in the heart of Surfer’s Paradise close to all amenities and many tourist attractions. It has a wide range of kid’s activities to keep the whole family entertained and it offers amazing deals. In fact Stay at Home Mum fans can take advantage of the current Paradise Resort deal where if you book 5 nights or more at Australia’s Favourite Family Resort you will receive a 3 day family pass to visit Dreamworld and WhiteWater World, a $100 Resort Voucher, up to 4 hours of Kids Club per child per day, plus a range of discount vouchers absolutely FREE, saving families over $639.00. Conditions Apply. Click here for more details
So whether you are looking for a long break away or a mini holiday to keep the kids out of your hair, then have a look at Paradise Resort. Below are some of the things to consider when booking your accommodation:
Where is the resort located?
Location is of utmost importance not only to safety but also to your sanity when on holidays. You don’t want to be driving for hours in an unfamiliar area and thus it is important to be close to all amenities. Can you walk down the road to pick up a bottle of wine or do you have to drive ten kilometers. If the children get a fever, how far away is the nearest chemist? Paradise Resort is less than a five minute walk to the main surf beach and only a ten minute stroll from popular Cavill Avenue. However, it also features it’s very own Splashes mini mart located within the resort and stocks groceries, beer, wine and more (yes, I said wine!!)
Is there a kid’s club?
Many resorts will now offer a kid’s club program, usually on school holidays or over the weekend. What this entails is that you can register your child for a day or half day of scheduled activities while you have some adult-only time. However, not all kid’s clubs are treated the same and Paradise Resort has got to have one of the best kid’s clubs across the country. Newly renovated, it offers fully supervised sessions daily for children aged 0-12 (yep, qualified care for your baby is available!). There are nine different play spaces for the kids to explore including the Space Room, Under Water World, the Magic Garden, Leonardo’s Painting Room, the Egyptian Room and Dusty’s Safari. The Kids Club activity line up features activities to suit children of all ages and personalities such as arts and crafts, pyjama parties, super hero days, Kids Club’s Got Talent and loads more.
What other kid friendly activities are on offer?
Don’t worry – the kids don’t get to have all the fun. There is an ongoing list of family friendly facilities (and even an adult only section) to explore at Paradise Resort. The Resort features the standard gym, swimming pool and spa but there are so many extras that really puts this place ahead of the rest. It’s the little things, like the indoor jungle gym located right in the lobby to keep your already wired-from-travel children at bay while you check-in, the giant waterpark and the permanent ice-skating rink that really stand out. Here are just a few others:
- Moonlight Movies by the Pool
- Live Weekly Music
- Weekly Shows Featuring Nickleby the Magician
- Weekly Family Discos and Fancy Dress Parties
- Dusty’s BBQ Area, Jungle Gym and Playground
- Games Room and Giant Chess Board
- Planet Chill Ice Rink
- Giant Z4K Waterpark
What are the Rooms Like?
Imagine the comfort and space of being at home while on holidays. Well, Paradise Resort’s accommodation is kind of like this, but much cooler! You have the comfort; you have the space; but you also have all of these extra features that will make it better than home. They have special themed rooms called Bunkhouse’s where kids have their own bedrooms, decked out with colourful bunk beds, televisions and Xbox and parents can enjoy time alone overlooking the resort. The resort has been designed with safety in mind as all rooms are located in a low rise complex to prevent tragic falls. There is also secure undercover parking available to ensure the easiest option when rallying the troops out of the resort.
What do the reviews suggest?
We loved it but will you? Take the time to read a few reviews to get a better feel of the place and what others have said. Paradise Resort is currently listed as the Best Family Resort according to Holidays With Kids and just received the Award for Excellence by the Queensland Hotels Associations (QHA).
